Replace it with the same format as CBS Sunday Morning in the US. As previous posters have rightly suggested, the format traditionally worked because of its warmth, conviviality and general 'niceness' for a Sunday. CBS Sunday Morning is now HUGE with younger 'hipster' audiences because it feels different and approaches news from a more in-depth, magazine style.

As competent as you'd expect for that channel.

Im a big fan of CBS Sunday Morning. If you've never seen its a brilliant programme. It has a unique cadence and pace all its own. Its not presented in a snooty inaccessible way that could turn off viewers that live outside major metropolitan areas but its not dumbed down either. It can be high brow but its done in an accessible way. Something about the NYC Opera and then a feel good story from a small town. But all the stories are done in a similar style so its not jarring. But its mixed with some serious think pieces. They incorporate the headlines, previously read by Jane Pauley the anchor now after covid its an on screen graphic. The graphics are also a deliberate choice. They are charmingly "outdated". Not too flashy and a bit quirky which is their style. And the programme ends with a 60 second nature clip its very relaxing. Totally weekend morning coffee/tea blanket sofa telly. Watched by millions across diverse ages and races. Thats why CBS is tried to exploit its success to the weekday morning programme. But failed in my opinion. CBS Saturday Morning is a success for a different reason. They cobble together a good anchor team and utlizes live music and other features that have hit its stride with audiences.

Apologies for going off topic a little bit but.....is there any way to watch it in the UK? I am interested to see it

I think that's probably the most strange title sequence and logo I have ever seen for a Sunday morning programme.

Were they trying to scare people to get out of bed and leave the house?  Confused

RE: Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg - mouseboy33 - 14-09-2023

Sorry this is waaay off topic. Its the original launch logo from 1979. Its not been significantly changed. https://logos.fandom.com/wiki/CBS_Sunday_Morning?file=CBS_News_Sunday_Morning_%28Symbol%29.svg
Its just their thing. Changes dont really happy often. When they changed the physical set a few years ago. It was a modern version of their launch set. Again their graphics are "charmingly" outdated. If thats a thing. Its very deliberate. One thing to note, is each segment ends with an "appropriate" sun image. They actually have a producer that selects the viewer submitted suns used on the programme.

Now lets get back to Sunday with Laura Kuenssbergs programme. LOL

I think the days of wanting to tune in to a political show on any morning, let alone Sunday, are over.

I may watch tomorrow if VD is presenting. She may temporarily tinker with the tone of the programme interviews.

I had actually deleted the series links for both LK and the programme on Sky, but I'll set the tellybox just for tomorrow Big Grin
