Something definitely feels slightly different with this new Hull set compared to the sets for EMT and Birmingham, presumably because the Hull studio is slightly thinner and but longer compared to the other regional sets iirc

It's a shame that the vasoline-o-vision cameras have remained

Also, I could have sworn the other two English regions with these sets already, you can see a keyboard and mouse on the coffee table, indicating that there is a computer in the table, however, in Hull Peter had both an iPad and laptop on the sofa with him tonight

The laptop and iPad is probably so Peter can read out the many comments from viewers, without having to lean over the desk.

Other than standing for the headlines and first story, they're not using the set as extensively as other regions. Pretty much sofa bound throughout.

You’ve got to love Peter’s monolith contact details…

I’m impressed at the speed in which the set has been struck/built. Third week in January they stopped using the old set. Six week turnaround.

Not sure of that angle between Peter in the studio and a giant Paul on the wall behind. He’s going to end up with a neck injury like Charlie Stayt probably has!

Looks like an old business card.

Definitely a region that should have been remerged instead of Cambridge

Controversial going for a city wide view of Hull. Usually its the Humber Bridge something that connects both North & South banks.

I am guessing that’s a unique problem that Hull has as the presenter for the weather is based in Leeds, At least it’s better then Amy looking to see if Paul was on the screen and he never appeared..

Won’t East Yorks and Lincs viewers also get the Leeds temporary set on mornings from tomorrow as well?

Most of the non-hub regions will occasionally have the main programme forecast come from elsewhere (for example it’s not particularly uncommon for midlands today to get a prerecord from Nottingham) but Hull is the only one to basically never have the forecast in person.
