Possibly the same arrangement again?

The BBC One Nightlight schedule confirms

I don’t get it Newcastle already in HD and fully animated graphics it’s Yorkshire that needs the upgrades.

I would imagine it’s some other technical work being done. Maybe installing some personality in their presenters.

Maybe they are installing UHD cameras for Newcastle viewers, Yorkshire can’t get past 25 year old SD cameras.

Maybe they're waiting until next year to do Leeds so the kit can celebrate it's 20th anniversary?

I imagine there were bits of Newcastle's infrastructure that were original 80s?

As soon as it’s decommissioned, it’ll probably become an exhibit in the Media Museum in Bradford, and visitors will marvel at how ancient and primitive it is.

I guess it's not much older than the likes of the Mailbox

RE: BBC/ITV Yorkshire News - IanJRedman - 17-03-2023

Sorry for the incorrect information in my post - I assumed this was an HD upgrade, as it outwardly looked similar to the others that have been done. That's why I believed it was Leeds, as Newcastle has already been upgraded... If the work is taking place at Newcastle, it's odd that it's been closed for maintenance twice.

RE: BBC/ITV Yorkshire News - Spencer - 18-03-2023

It was indeed a combined Yorkshire and NE&C bulletin from Leeds this evening. There wasn’t any acknowledgement that it was a joint service other than there being stories from Northumberland and Cumbria, plus there was the same combined weather map as last time with Bridlington again marked in the middle of the North Sea.
