RE: BBC/ITV Yorkshire and Lincolnshire News - Steve in Pudsey - 02-08-2023

I seem to recall there was some cockup with the NorthWest involving a rescheduled late bulletin falling off the air and being replaced with Leeds, Steve Saul tweeted it was to do with scheduled switches taking place for the SLS. But I think that predates the BBC1 North continuity.

I guess in the example you describe if the SLS was directly after Look North it wasn't worth opting back to network for the trails but staying soft opted.

I wonder if these days the local announcement would be because it was burned on to the front of the programme, regardless of where it was played out from? Although they presumably would have to produce a version without it for network and the red button.

Look North did however feature Peter (unusually dressed in a t shirt and a hoodie which Hudson picked up on) having a go at the various seaside tasks, serving burgers from a van, that sort of thing

Meanwhile, Peter is starting to go viral again

A new face presenting Look North Leeds, I missed the start so I don't know her name.

I assume a freelance presenter covering for Amy Garcia while the work to rule is in place.

EDIT: The presenter is Bridgid Nzekwu.

Keeley will be back at 2230, so I'm not sure why she could have presented tonight as she presented the main bulletin a few weeks ago.

RE: BBC/ITV Yorkshire and Lincolnshire News - DrewF - 07-08-2023

The presenter is Bridgid Nzekwu, formerly of ITV News and Channel 4 News. It looks like she's also covered for Look North Newcastle recently.

The work to rule is a bit odd at the moment, about three weeks ago all the usual faces started appearing on the 6:30 again. Phil Bodmer made mention of it on twitter, and Keeley and Amanda started appearing again as well.

London has also gone through a similar issue, after weeks and weeks of freelancers or senior presenters on the main bulletin, since the summer holidays, the likes of Victoria Hollins and Alice Bhandhukravi have returned to cover the main bulletin rather than just doing the late shift.

RE: BBC/ITV Yorkshire and Lincolnshire News - Andrew - 10-08-2023

Bridgid’s presentation over the last 3 days could only be described as ‘functional’

Normal service resumed tonight with Tom Ingall on duty

Obviously this is not an issue over in Hull as Peter Levy hasn’t missed a programme yet all year
