That's a shame, would be interesting to see it.

Would be interesting to see that, is it something you can post online? Presumably there's nothing on there still in use?

1983. I can't see any of it being in use now since telly 'went digital' and of course other providers are available. The BT tower doesn't look the same with it's horns gone, same at Stokenchurch etc.

It's A3 and I have no means to scan it in.

Many public libraries have massive big all-in-one printers that print, copy, scan, email, fax, do the dishes and mop the floor (dishes and mopping optional). They can usually do A4 or A3 and scan that to email.

May not be open because of Easter but might be worth a look next week.

RE: TV Mistakes/Breakdowns - CCFG - 07-04-2023

A video from 2008 showcasing a major mess up for ITV4 when ITV did their own playout from South Bank. https://youtu.be/8gnsuH-QAok

It wasn't just ITV4 that went down, every ITV channel (except CITV, who were already closed for the evening) had issues. There's a lot more info in this thread from the blue place:
https://www.tvforum.co.uk/tvhome/itv-network-transmission-issues-27932

I find it odd that somehow they managed to get on the 'programmes start at 6pm' slide (When at this point ITV4 had gone 24/7), two CITV slides (The CITV Channel would originally timeshare with ITV4 from when CITV launched in March 2006 to when ITV4 went 24/7 in February 2008. Unless the timeshare is anything like the timeshares between CBBC/BBC Three and CBeebies/BBC Four where both channels shared presentation areas until ITV4 went 24/7, then I don't know how that happened), an ITV Play slide (Why would they still have that on the system? By this point it had been a year since ITV Play closed) and the Men & Motors slide from when it closed on Freeview.

Ever wondered what was on the sustaining feed from Central/CiTV in 2000 when the adverts were on?

Either somebody at Meridian wasn't paying attention or there was a problem running the ads. Your choice.

I gather that Channel 5 is currently playing out Ben Hurr with subtitles for the Smurfs

Going back to BT Circuits, Maidstone etc, this is an interesting little handover between Timmy Mallet at TVam and Sandi Toksvig (Ethel) in Maidstone.

The switchover between TVam and ITV is after the copyright caption. Presumably the output of TVam's studio is going down to Maidstone and the gallery there is cutting Timmy to air for his lines. I wonder if those phones are live and being used to cue the conversation. Very slick..... although I'd be interested to know what happened the week before

I would imagine the WAC show was recorded at least the day before, sequence rehearsed and recorded either at TV-am or Maidstone directly as facilities allowed for subsequent editing/play in as required into the TVS programme?

GMTV pre-recorded their studio children’s programming and I would think they followed TV-am’s example?

The phone is still ringing after Timmy picks it up!

Even if it's an actual phone that he's speaking down the ringer will of course still be a sound effect.

Was Wide Awake Club recorded? it never occurred to me that it wouldn't be live. It's a long time ago I can't remember if they had kids phoning in?

It's one of those odd things where it all went too well for it to be live..... but it's not quite slick enough for it to be recorded - note the pause at 9:25 where Sandi was cued to start dialling (although of course that could have been a mistimed tape playback)

If it was recorded it was directly after the actual show was recorded as the people behind Timmy are the same. Maybe the previous week revealed how it was done
