Also remember the average viewer (not the devout WWTBAM fans or TV pres geeks) doesn't watch or listen to the credits, so it doesn't matter.

Is what it would have been recorded with (excuse the quality - not my recording) - it demonstrates the issues - old premium rate phone number, another network (albeit ancient branding) and an obsolete medium (Teletext) - all baked into the programme.

Remember when Millionaire started they probably didn't imagine it would be rebroadcast for years to come, as it was 'event television' - they stripped it across the schedules and plugged everything about it to make the prize fund up and draw in viewers, so there was no alternative credits or ending cut to it.

Sky Sports Golf had a bit of a fault earlier, it cut to colour bars and the picture was messed up.

I only know this cause I’m at a golfing place showing the channel.

I knew there was a video showing what I was prattling on about but I couldn't drag anything useful up. Thanks for that.

Indeed it took Challenge a long time to find those episodes for some reason I can't remember why, but yes it was relatively unique at the time for something like that to be stripped across was it 12 nights? Anyway it was a massive hit, viewership of about 20m at its peak and it really was event television, so there was no "clean" edit, though didn't stop Classic Millionaire becoming a thing years later.

I think it was stripped for the first few series, and then it dropped back to a weekly format.

Channel 4 lost pictures and switched to a commentary-free feed during the England match, unfortunately it was during a VAR check which resulted in the goal being disallowed

Because the VAR team were watching the match on Channel 4?

Because you couldn't hear the reason given for why the goal was disallowed due to it being the commentary clean feed.

WWE Friday Night Smackdown on TNT Sports 1 started with no sound after a few minutes or so a banner appeared saying “We apologise for the loss of sound and hope to correct the fault shortly” this was during last weeks recap, the sound came on just before the show started.

I'm assuming it was a mistake but yesterday lunchtime before Home and Away C5 played out two weather reports - the first out of vision then the second, with a different sponsor, with an invision forecaster.

I thought I’d capture the fault before I deleted the recording after watching it, for anyone who wants to see it

Well another week and another episode of WWE Friday Night Smackdown with sound issues, only this time with added video issues too!

Coming out of the first ad break back into the programme with no sound, it went to a backstage segment still with no sound and as the “We apologise for the loss of sound and hope to correct the fault shortly” banner appeared, the video froze then they decided to go back to ads. The programme was resumed at the end of those ads part way through a match and less than 2 mins later had to go to ads again due to it being a live American programme.
