If we go back to the original News 24 studio (which became N9), they had an open space to the newsroom, with simply a gate within the barrier separating them. I don't recall any noise interference on air.

The fact that the new Breakfast/Sport studio has quite a high screen would indicate that there would be little or no noise from the area outside.

Wonder how long it will be until someone accidentally (or knowingly!) hits the switch which rotates the desk rostrum while Breakfast is on air and presenters are in vision?  

We could have a modern day version of the Magic Roundabout or Blankety Blank going into the Supermatch Game.

I doubt that will happen as funny as it could be, it never happened to my knowledge when Sky had similar technology in 2005, I suspect there are safeguards. 
It will be more interesting if it gets stuck as I seem to remember that did happen at Sky.

I don't think it rotates, it's simply a platform which can be moved across to the other side and face a different direction.

It's on a platform, probably similar to what ITV Granada Reports use when they move the desk during summer/winter.

The BBC have also done this before in N6 when Breakfast was in there - the dais/desk was on the right, then moved to the left for News bulletins a very long time ago. The wheels are locked when in position, then unlocked to move it. No automation required - just some studio crew.

I seem to recall Chris Cook posting a photo a while ago, which was reposted here. It was of a switch with 'breakfast' and 'sport' on it, which implied it was automatic.
