BFMTV will be pleased with Ruquier's launch, doubling the slot's viewing share. Remains to be seen though whether they stick around.

CNEWS is still far ahead though

LCI is at 218k viewers at the same slot with franceinfo last at 121k watching Les Informes

Time will tell if Ruquier's stint will be a ratings hit in that slot or just a vanity project to allow Laurent to continue to present round table debates as he did for France 2 for way too long.

It'll no doubt be more successful than William Leymergie's obscure William à Midi midday slot on C8 where he essentially continues to present his Télématin format to virtually no one.

Good to see David Delos return to Franceinfo this morning after a long absence.

Jean-Pierre Elkabbach has passed away. CNEWS is doing special coverage -- he last worked there.

Elkabbach had a brief three-month stint anchoring the 8pm news for Antenne 2 when it relaunched in 1977 (sharing duties with Patrick Povire d'Arvor, before he eventually became the main weekday anchor)
This is from the third day of the 'new' look - taking on an unusual format of its own due to strike action.

Franceinfo mentioned Elkabbach twice during Planéte Info during two segments, but it didn't stray away from the enviornmental agenda of the bulletin.

I had to double check that we weren't April Fool's Day!

Surprised that TF1 is going down this route! They've long been unwilling to launch their own breakfast show, with LCI somewhat acting as a substitute. I suppose with LCI's breakfast show now going the Morning Joe style of (slow) analysis they've decided a breakfast program on TF1 wouldn't be direct competition.
