Speaking of competition, TF1 has started to lure away some Télématin chroniqueurs for the new breakfast show: the first one is Maud Deschamps, who helmed the show's general interest interviews and also served as joker, particularly during holiday seasons.

Can't say I'm surprised that Maud Deschamps is off to TF1. She'll give the new TF1 breakfast show the fluffier side it needs.

Who's next? Alix Dauge from Franceinfo perhaps? She's been on the morning show as a chroniqueuse since 2019 and I think is the longest member of the morning team? France Télévisions gave her a culture podcast in August and generous time off presumably as a package to keep her on the show.

There are LCI chroniqueurs who may also get signed up who may be easier to sign up as they already work for Groupe TF1.

Both 12/13 info and 19/20 info today were only 30 mins long today on Franceinfo and then looped. Julian Benedetto only presented the 19h bulletin with freelancer Jeanne Baron who has been getting a lot of cover work on the channel recently on the lunchtime bulletin. Baron also covered mid-mornings for Camille Grenu this morning.

I suspect 23h info would've been the same if it wasn't for a multiple stabbing attack in Paris near the Eiffel Tower tonight that it was the full 60 minutes tonight.

Overall total for news channels: 7.9% (-0.9% / +0.4%).

CNEWS was in front of BFMTV for 4 days straight and has been ahead frequently since the death of a teen in Crepol. Rather unsurprisingly, this is because this news item touches upon their usual topics debated on the channel.

Le Parisien with the (full?) list of chroniqueurs for TF1's new breakfast show, named "Bonjour !". Starts at 7am, ends at 9:30am :
- Christophe Beaugrand, will apparently be leaving LCI, he will have a "regard décalé" on a topic of his choice
- Hélène Mannarino with a "portrait inattendu"
- Karima Charni for culture
- Garance Pardigon for the news bulletins
- Ange Noiret, unsurprisingly, for the weather
- Jean-Marie Bagayoko, for viewers' questions
- Maud Descamps, as previously revealed, for la "vie quotidienne"
- Vincent Valinducq as the show's doctor (with Anaïs Grangerac taking over once a week)
- Benjamin Muller, for parenthood and nutrition
- Monique Younès, role not revealed, but she did culture on RTL previously
- Adrien Gindre, with LCI's political interview moving to TF1

Thierry Thuillier says that of course, there won't be all 13 of them on set at one time, but there'll always be 4-6 people with Bruce.

Interesting to note that Franceinfo beats LCI in mornings despite the latter having a decent set.

It goes to show that while Franceinfo's Matinale bulletin is still from the same desk in their newsroom set, it's the team casting that is important and Jean-Baptiste Marteau has done a great job at gelling Samuel Etienne's old team together.

Rumours are mounting over BFM TV's future: given the channel has been in a state of flux due to the wave of departures of many of its star presenters, increased denunciation of Marc-Olivier Fogiel's increased editorial interference, and decreasing ratings due to the success of CNEWS' right-wing opinion schedule and LCI's geopolitical focus, plus Altice struggling with massive debts and increased accusations of business fraud, there have been reports of the company wanting to sell a part or all of its French media division, the former NextRadioTV, which include RMC and BFM branded networks on TV and radio. Although serious media outlets have been reported such a process is underway, Altice owner and chairman Patrick Drahi has consistently denied these rumours.

And yes, Clément Garin should be taken with a pinch of salt (successfully and rightly scooping Maxime Switek would take over Bruce Toussaint on its slot, but the possible transfer of Frédéric Taddeï being wrong), but this could also be vaguely plausible. Altice is reportedly in process of negotiating with shipping and logistics behemoth CMA CGM to take over the struggling network. The company owned by French-Lebanese mogul Rodolphe Saadé is reportedly wanting to increase its media property list, after successfully taking over La Provence in a bankruptcy bidding war with Xavier Niel, and successfully buying former business paper La Tribune, relaunched as a Sunday paper in October.

CMA CGM is reportedly wanting to take over the network by the end of the year. Some of the first moves which are being studied is doing away with Fogiel and Hervé Beroud, with CMA CGM's media director (and former France Télévisions, Radio France and Europe 1 news and content director) Laurent Guimier expanding his duties on La Tribune and La Provence to oversee the network.

Speaking of TF1's Bonjour !, the launch of the new show is causing a side effect on the channel's morning schedules: the TFOU block it requires to air by law is reportedly moving most of its schedule to weekends only in an extended time slot, with the weekday block moving to TFX; in order to make these moves (and according to La Lettre newsmagazine), the network is asking the Arcom to loosen these requirements, and will present this week to the authority their schedule going forward from January. The move has caused a strong condemnation from the AnimFrance guild, as TF1 had just signed in March an agreement to continue investments in local cartoons.

Did not want to cite Garin yesterday but as you say, more sources picking it up now, so who knows really. Garin claims that employees at BFMTV have been informed, so the usual more reliable media news outlets should usually start picking up on it, alas they haven't yet done so (OZAP, Le Parisien).
