Speaking of which, Frédéric Taddeï is now on CNEWS on Saturday and Sunday evenings from 10pm to midnight. It's actually a great show and is of similar quality to what Darius Rochebin does on LCI. The guests aren't the usual pundits and are actual experts in their respective fields. The show isn't stuck to the usual themes of the channel. All in all, a nice surprise though topics like feminism and the climate may prove to be a little too 'woke' for the channel's usual viewers who watch to confirm their prejudices.

At least, something different from the usual right-wing, clash-ridden punditry which often populates most of the channel's schedule. In an interview with Le Parisien, however, Taddeï said that the show will feature a bigger diversity of topics and pundits from cultural circles. This leads to question me: is Bolloré trying to convince the Arcom that he will pledge to increase the channel's diversity of voices as its license is up to renewal by 2025? Taddeï won't do the job alone, however.

Back to Project Tempo (France 3's new newscasts), Philippe Martinetti, director of France 3's regional content, has announced formally the replacement of the 18.30 pre-newscast which is produced by the regional centres, and consisted mostly of lighter fare reporting on patrimonial issues and local events and happenings; it also airs a daily capsule produced by France 3 Régions, Le journal des solutions, which focuses on reporting outstanding entrepreneurial, social and environmental achievements made in the regions. As the new Ici 12/13 and Ici 19/20 shows are launching in the new season, Le journal des solutions will move to the first part of Ici 12/13, and the regional reports are moving to each of the new broadcasts. Martinetti, however, is studying to free up the slot to launch new cultural magazines or place a game show in it.

Finally, Ronald Faure, former CEO of Radio France, has died at 96. He championed the launch of franceinfo alongside Jérôme Bellay, which, at the time, was a total revolution, as it was the first all-news radio station in France, and the seed for what today is the multimedia news platform of the same brand (including the TV channel).

Is this programme inspired by that climate show on Sky News?

Here's the first edition of Météo Climat, which is the new revamped post 8pm weather bulletin with a focus on climate issues.

It was teased earlier this year:

(20-01-2023, 05:05 PM)Medianext.MX Wrote:  The other catch of the interview is the decision to drop the evening weather bulletin, saying "it's outdated". Kara is working on a long form daily climate show (sic) which would include the standard weather report, but would also include environmental and climate news, similar to France 3's Météo à la carte, but with less presence of patrimonial and cultural features.

The new bulletin is good, and the virtual set they use looks really really good, as they have the recent France Télévisions virtual sets, mainly thanks to the use of Zero Density and Unreal Engine-powered machines provided by Belgium's Dreamwall. Having it reflect the changing season and time of the day makes it much nicer.

BTW, the same weather bulletin is being repeated over on France 3 immediately after being broadcast on France 2.

Back to the Rachid M'Barki-Team Jorge case, a National Assembly commission on the matter of illegal third-party interventions will summon next week in the presence of the former BFM TV presenter. This was initially revealed by Ozap/PureMédias. By Sunday, Lenodal users leaked the definitive dates, with M'Barki testifying next Wednesday and BFM TV director Marc-Olivier Fogiel doing so on Thursday.

Bernard de La Villardière, presenter of M6's topical affairs newsmagazine Enquête exclusive, has been interviewed by Le Figaro newspaper, in which he revealed he has an undisclosed cancer. He has also hinted he plans to semi-retire from the newsmagazine to continue in treatment and to focus on his production company Ligne de Front, which he runs with his son Marc.

The set for Météo Climat reminds me of the Eurosport virtual sets for the Olympics.

It's not a repeat, they produce a separate edition for France 3 with different content. Tonight's was presented by Julia Martin on 3 and Anaïs Baydemir on 2.

It appears the duty forecaster for each channel will present the climate bulletin.

So, that's two daily editions. I am really surprised France 3 has its own edition given they are just dropping their national news content.

The King is set for a state visit to France by the end of this month, and both TF1 and France 2 are going all-in in covering the event, in specific, the public ceremony with President Macron and the speech he will give in front of the Senate. On TF1, main anchors Anne-Claire Coudray and Gilles Bouleau will present a special broadcast with many of its correspondents and special guests; it will be, as usual, simulcast on LCI.

Over at France 2, Julian Bugier and political editor Nathalie Saint-Cricq will present live coverage, with further reports on their programmes, France 3 and franceinfo TV. France 2's coverage will be simulcast on selected TV5Monde feeds (including FBSM and Europe).
