Let's just hope ITVX works well for ITV as this new look certainly won't grab viewers attention and make their channels offerings stand out

All looks pretty nice. They didn’t really take it where I they would which is a smidge disappointing but I guess understandable… The concept definitely could’ve been pushed a lot more rather than just “oh they’re in the same place” - just feels a tiny tiny bit safe. When I initially heard about what they were doing I thought there was going to be more of a cohesive storyline to each ident with an alternative ending/the channel’s personality coming through in some way or another.

Still, a very interesting concept. I hope they continuously keep updating the set with new additions because I can imagine this being the kind of thing some of the channels get cold feet about - especially ITV2, it’s reminding me of the 2013 package a little bit and I feel like they’ll soon be itching to change something if they don’t feel like it’s getting that personality across.

From what I've seen so far, 'fine' is probably the most appropriate description. Not anything especially good, not terribly awful - a bit like BBC One's 'Lens' idents. They also feel very ITV, possible as a result of 'people milling about' being a description of a lot of ITV's recent ident sets, even if these seem better executed than a lot of their 2000s efforts. Still sad to see ITV Creates go - even if I always suspected it would be something of an aberration, it will remain in my all time favourite ident sets.

You would think that would update ITV Hub with the new channel branding... Having said that, ITVX launches in three weeks - so is there a point of doing that? In terms of consistency, yes, practicality, no.

 They may do but saying that, ITVX is due to be launched in less than a month so they may not bother. We shall see what happens.

I did see on GMB’s Facebook earlier that a post they put did have the new ITV font on the image so it may be they will update it over the coming days and weeks… but as someone else mentioned, ITV News are possibly looking to rebrand next year so they may just keep it as it is currently and change it all in 2023. They may do a similar thing to what BBC are doing, just changing things as they go along to save costs. The BBC are still using old logos almost a year on from updating it, and they are still using the old news titles which are due to be replaced at some time in the future, but cost restraints are stopping them from doing it all in one go, so ITV may be doing the same sort of thing.

Overall, the rebrand looks really smart. I like the way the transitions are done throughout and the idents are pretty decent, though I'm not keen on a few of them. 

Also, I'm glad ITV has been renamed ITV1 as there really is no point calling the main channel "ITV" especially when all the other channels have either a number or word beside the ITV brand.
