I’m sure it always been an option, but whether or not a producer can just ask, and they get a straight yes, and it’s just that producers don’t bother asking, or whether they need to have a very good reason and it needs to be signed off by the director of television, who knows.

Odd to see the ITV Sport sting with a 2024 copyright strap shown at the start of the EFL highlights programme this evening. I've not seen that happen before any other sport programme.

Clearly a mistake. Isn't the copyright at the end the same animated logo used at the start, just with that info added? They must've played out the wrong version.

Taking your cue and looking at TVH, it wasn't there for the racing on New Year's Day, but it's appeared since the rugby highlights on 7th January.

It gets better... ITV4 this morning had a re-rerun of The Best of Saint and Greavsie introduced with the ITV Sport sting with the 2024 copyright. Following the sponsor sting, the titles played out with an embeded IT\* Sport logo - now overdubbed with the current sport music. And to finish the programme, the current ITV Sport sting but with a 2023 copyright strap.
