The Sun (so obviously take this with a pinch of salt) reporting that Amanda and Alesha are yet to sign contracts despite filming beginning on Tuesday.

So the series is just going to be Simon sat on his desk on his own smoking a cigar

In some ways, it may be refreshing if the show gets a brand new panel.

Simon stays where he is.

The Amanda role could be taken by some other kooky presenter/actress- someone like Holly Willoughby, Emma Willis, or maybe even poaching Claudia (it doesn’t clash with Strictly so she could do both). However, Claudia’s not really someone the tabloids tend to swoon over so Holly would probably be better in the role for the “style war”; and I also think her personality suits a Cowell show pretty well- she did pretty good on the Xtra Factor.

The Alesha role would probably be taken by one of his XF mates so someone like Cheryl, Nicole or Mel- all of whom have ties to the Got Talent franchise already- Cheryl was initially supposed to be on the panel before Amanda; Nicole has done the Aussie show; and Mel did the US show. Of those, Mel would be my pick because she’s very blunt and direct and isn’t afraid to stand up to Simon.

The David role going to someone like Bruno or Alan doesn’t seem to make that much sense to me, because it’s like replacing like for like- they could go for someone with a similar comedy background but a different personality- David Mitchell would bring a completely new lease of life to the show; Jack Whitehall could be a bit of eye candy and he’s quite a luvvie so would fit in to the panel; they could even change the gender dynamics on the panel and have another woman take the comedy slot- somebody like Miranda Hart or Jo Brand.

But they're not exactly going to get a new panel is place by tomorrow, when audition filming begins.

I can imagine it'll all blow over, Amanda & Alesha will sign and Simon will get his own way with Bruno.

Assuming you're correct that they begin filming auditions tomorrow I'd be somewhat surprised if BGT didn't have all their judges/talent under contract at least a month prior. At the end of the day usually nobody is irreplaceable, though changing multiple judges wouldn't be ideal for stability if done frequently (see X-Factor). Speculation over who will or won't be judge along with this latest report feels more like a publicity machine in operation, rather than any real potential problem.

Cowell more likely leaking false stories again. Like The big X Factor return which ITV rubbished immediately

They're doing auditions tomorrow, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Details here. Before 3 days in Manchester early February.

Speaking of Applause Store, I have tickets for the auditions this week. Has anyone been previously, and what was your experience like?

It would be great if they didn't. The line-up could do with a shake up. Holden especially is one of the main reasons why I can't watch BGT. At least Walliams is finally gone.

Judge line up confirmed as Simon, Amanda, Aleshia and Bruno
