To add to this, looks like they have a generic graphics design across all daytime news bulletin, with the 5pm and 9pm newscasts and Newsroom being the exclusions:

A much more colourful take than their predecessor, and good to see them dropping the globe/world landscape cliche for something original. Still not getting over the Arial NEWS though... Tongue

Absolutely agree, the new ERT News titles refresh were long overdue.

It seemed strange when they launched the ERT News 24 hour channel in September that they opted for new on screen graphics but decided to keep the old intro titles that had been in use since before even the new ERT corporate identity launched - and that was back in Sept 2020.

These new titles and graphics certainly tie it all together now. When they launched the news channel, they did so with the intention of moving content away from ERT1 to ERT News yet for big chunks of the day (usually until around 13:00), you find both channels broadcasting exactly the same programming.

Just to add, the ERTNews at 05:00 (that you've captured above) seems to be a brand new hour long show that only started on Thursday. Before then it was short news headlines at 5am followed by a repeat.

Spain's RTVE is expected to launch later tonight a new studio for 24 Horas, its all-news channel. The new studio is located at the ground floor of the Torrespaña Production Centre, which houses the PSB's news and current affairs department; it has been installed in Studio A1, the former longtime home of Telediario; which moved into the next door studio in February 2021 as it launched a new look.

The new set design is clearly designed to be in the line of the Telediario set, which has been designed for augmented reality and immersive mixed reality. The new set goes in that line, but it has been designed to house the channel's needs, with a smaller video wall and special set elements for debate and analysis programming. The new studio is expected to launch during its main debate show La Noche en 24 Horas; there will be also the launch of new opening titles and surrounding graphics in the style of the current Telediario graphics; they already use straps very much in line with theirs.

The current look dates back to 2017, when the channel evolved its programming schedule to increase the number of live news hours and reduce its dependence on back half-hours; the change was led by controversial news anchor Álvaro Zancajo, which also promoted the launch of two hard news hours; he was ousted after the management changes in RTVE by 2019, however, the look remained. The studio has been used since 2008 and was installed in a free terrace space between the historical building erected in 1981 (and used as IBC for next year's World Cup, where RTVE served as host broadcaster) and a new building for the PSB's digital services erected by 2006; it was never converted to HD, and, when they launched an HD simulcast in 2020, they remained as such during these last three years. Some of the channel's programming did move, however, to Studio A3 (the former weather set) which was already converted to the format; that studio will be converted to a virtual set for explainer production when 24 Horas leaves it, whilst the terrace studio will be converted to extra office space.

The new studio has just debuted with a special edition of its debate show La Noche en 24h. As expected, the new look also means the debut of new opening titles and music, wholly unified with those of Telediario. The new opens use a modified version of HK Nova called Habana (named after the location of TVE's first studios, Paseo de La Habana). The theme music, also closer to that of Telediario, was composed by Barcelona-based Josep Sanou, who has done all of Telediario's themes since 2008.

In Japan, the late-night newscast of Fuji TV, Live News alpha, had a brand new look earlier this week, being the second newscast of the network to move away from the unified branding that was first introduced in 2019.

Over in New Zealand, news-talk radio station Today FM has switched to non-stop music as the stations owners looks set to pull the plug. This follows the recent departure of both the head of news, and the company CEO.

Here is a snippet of the final few minutes of talk.

Really really bad, the way the station was just suddenly yanked off the air like that. The owners should have at the very least let the presenters each do one last show to say goodbye to the listeners. I understand there was talk of it maybe closing, or at least being overhauled, sooner or later, but not like this. It’s just wrong.
