Today's the last day the two shows coming from the Martin Place studio - here's how they bid farewell to the place.

Sunrise - Meteorologist Sam Mac wandered around the ins and outs of the studio, Wrecking the old decors as well as thanking the neighbours nearby:

The Morning Show - A montage of the show's history, including the 2014 Sydney siege that was close to the studio at the time:

Weekend Sunrise will be the last programme coming out from the old place tomorrow.

In the Phillippines, TeleRadyo Serbisyo started broadcasting on pay TV at the end of June. The station is a simulcast of Radyo 630, a joint venture between Prime Media and ABS-CBN (who formerly own both the TV and radio stations, and limped on following their loss of broadcasting license in 2020).

Here's how the news bulletin looked on screen - as you'd imagine with radio simulcasts (cough Nicky Campbell cough), not the best thing on TV:

Not really surprised - looking at Media Spy they had been tinkering around the 1 News bug at the lower thirds recently, so it makes sense to have a larger refresh. No new theme though:

The final edition, vacating the set on-air: https://youtu.be/yfnFQV4jIJo?t=1120

Also, TV Blackbox commentator Rob McKnight had a sneak preview of the new studio:
Quote:The studio space is massive and set designer Mark Dyson has made great use of the space.

Unlike the news, Sunrise and TMS don’t rely on a video wall and a well-thought-out set integrates the video components really well.

The set and graphics for both shows are brighter and fresher while not reinventing the wheel.

Viewers will find the changes on Monday to be a nice evolution rather than a revolution.

The lighting is beautiful with those in charge not constantly having to fight with the ambient light from Martin Place. You’ve never seen the hosts look so good!

Here's the first edition of 1 News at Six with the new graphics. I kinda agree with the uploader of this video as said in the description, they've lost all cohesiveness. It doesn't really work together this time.
TVNZ just needs another big rebrand again tbh.

Seems like Sunrise will also get a refreshed logo with the studio move as well, matching the rest of 7 News.

Not really a fan of the aston animations, but they need to fix the kerning on that typeface.

She passed away at 67 after a battle with cancer.
Thank you Martine for everything, you've left an ever-lasting legacy on Belgian television.

I'm rather surprised at how sad I am at this news. As someone who has seen many clips from bulletins she's presented, she was amazing at what she did. When she retired, she was described as "the mother of all news anchors", and I don't think there's any better way to describe her. She only retired back in 2020, so it's all the more gutting to see that someone who has worked as hard as she has only got to see a couple of years of retirement. My thoughts are with her family and friends at this time. May she rest in peace.

EDIT: Just reading through articles online, and it turns out she had a relapse of cancer back in 2016. But unlike her first battle, she kept it quiet. She also received an honour from King Philippe on Thursday. VTM newsreader Dany Verstraeten, who knew Martine from their uni days, was on air reading the lunchtime news when he was told in his earpiece that she had passed away. VRT have opened up a page on their website for people to pay their respects.
