RE: International News Presentation: Past and Present - Independent - 14-12-2023

France 24 English has been repeating the same recorded bulletin for hours until now. The French channel looks like it's been doing regular live programming during the same time. It seems planned. I've never been a regular viewer until recently so I'm wondering if this has happened in the past before.

Seems to be a common occurrence among the unions within the France 24 / France Televisions newsrooms to stage no confidence votes in their editorial management?

Over in Germany, ARD-Mittamagazin, ARD/ZDF's lunchtime newsmagazine, is to be rebranded as MIMA next year, the same name used by the ZDF alternative since 2018.

It also marks the change of its production from RBB in Berlin to MDR in Leipzig, as well as an extended length to 2 hours.

As for what it'll look like:
Quote:In a spacious and inviting studio atmosphere (set design: Rico Chiari, Zurich), the content is visually brought to the fore using large LED media surfaces. The open, modularly designed room with lots of wood and fresh colors evokes a bright midday feeling - sunny and modern. Editorial, moderation and direction can tell stories visually and illustrate complex connections using explanatory graphics, for example, from a single photo or graphic to an atmospheric studio (screen design: Alpenblick GmbH, Munich).

The visual and technological relaunch will take place in two stages: The broadcast will initially be from a virtual studio, which will be replaced by the real, visually identical studio upon completion.

Servus Nachrichten Deutschland, 2023. The opening is for the 19.20 news on Servus TV across Germany and Austria, done by Welt.

Newscaststudio had a technical breakdown behind their system:

But as the German side of the channel is closing down and relaunched as DF1, not sure if it'll continue on the new channel.

Yes (France 24 is separate to francetv so will only refer to that), there was a strike 2-3 (?) years ago iirc regarding underfunding of the channel, an abundance of people working as pigistes (freelancers) and those on CDD (time-limited work contracts) along with yes a lack of confidence in leadership. That strike led to a few changes already in leadership.
