Yes it does feel like the end of the show and I agree the end of an era really. With the incredibly splintered TV landscape we have now, will there ever be another live show like it broadcast to millions.

That did feel very “final”… hope it’s not though!

Presumbly they have to ‘quit’ the show every decade or so, as it’s the only way ITV will give them a budget for a new set.

I was half expecting Kate Garraway to appear with the big red book, so she could pilot This Is Your Life. Or Ant & Dec to leave by the sliding doors to be greeted by the ghost of Freddie Star with a fire extinguisher. Disappointing really.

It was nice how they bought everyone back who’s had a cohosting role and people like Clive Tyldesley.

I saw Kirsty this morning at Smooth and she said that she was rushing to TVC from Leicester Square to be there

Kind of felt any emotion from the ending was somewhat lost by them being back on TV next week.

End of an era for sure. I've not been the biggest fan of SNT in it's last few years and think they've made the right call but I do hope they return with a new live format at some point in the future. Hope both the BBC and ITV give others a chance too.

Something so simple that should always be used for this kind of show instead of the black credits.

What happened to the end credits strap? Bring it back.

Wow. Was watching in Ireland on Virgin Media One and it was so emotional - I cried as the duo left the studio for the last time. End of an era for sure - what a ride it's been! I really wish I was at TVC tonight! Thank you SNT for everything!!! xx

One of the cogs in the wheel that got that to air...

Wonder how long it is since a show on ITV has been able to go out without generic credits? Possibly CD:UK? Looks so much better when a show can do something in its own style, not just the ITV font on a black background.

Just in case you weren't asking rhetorically, the standard credits template was introduced to allow for End Credits Promotions (ECPs) that push back/squeeze the credits and allow other programmes to be promoted - complete with text/graphics (sometimes video) - by the continuity announcer. They're so normal now but were quite a change when introduced.

Always thought the blanket standard credits policy was a bit heavy handed, but I guess it gave consistency to the continuity teams across ITV, UTV and STV preparing their graphics.
