There’s just nothing like SNT, and there’s nobody who could present it like Ant and Dec do. They really are fantastic at carrying live shows.

Different types of show though. Ninja Warrior is 6pm, they’ll need a 7pm replacement show.

They basically have a gap between Masked Singer and BGT.

It was ditched in 2023 - with rugby to blame. I could see it returning, whether it be the original format or “Race to Glory”. I do agree it suits 6pm better though. Perhaps the likes of The Fortune Hotel, 99 to Beat, Password and The Genius Game will be the eventual replacements come next year.

wow, what an incredible night. It’s a real shame to see this show go, especially as there’s nothing else really like it.

In terms of replacements, I really don’t see beyond a new gameshow or competition format, unfortunately shows like Saturday Night Takeaway.

I can definitely see Ant and Dec returning to the live format, even if isn’t SNT exactly. Maybe something like Big Show, which is mainly theatre-based. I just hope their new projects go better than last time they went on a break!

From a technical point of view, using the entire TV centre seemed like a bit of a gimmick to me. I’d been sent about 6 emails this week by applause store and judging by that I thought the majority of the show would be taking place on the outside stage, but not much seemed to be happening on them (and I wonder how the audience found it, having queued for hours to see Andi Peters: The Musical). But this is nitpicking for what was a really excellent episode.

Wonder what happened to Password? It was teased in the Christmas highlights press pack & then never appeared (were they going to air it after Limitless Win through January?) and it’s still not launching next week with a new Saturday night line up

I'm thinking it will appear post BGT once the 1% Club finishes.

I did find Win The Ads a bit odd in that considering that has played such a key part since the start it was actually fairly ‘normal’ apart from 20 squares/75 seconds and a £250,000 prize fund

I’m not sure how the one winner will manage to make use of £10,000 in Farmfoods for example without buying the entire business out!

It was £10,000 in "food and appliances"

I don't get the whole 'last show' thing, it's SNTs second 'last show'.

With the amount of good will and nostalgia in this series, it'll be back in a few years

In fairness to Ant and Dec they’ve never said it would be the last show ever. However I suspect it will prove to be the last regular series of the show. I suspect there may well be some standalone specials of the show in the future.

RE: Saturday Night Takeaway - Scrotnig - 14-04-2024

This “last show” felt a lot more “last” than the last “last show”.
