A certain irony that 17 years ago we were moaning about kids shows going from a main channel slot to a much less watched dedicated channel and now we're moaning about a dedicated channel being closed and content bring moved to a slot on a much more watched channel.

Latest BARB figures show on average ITV2 has a share of 2.16% compared to 0.12% for CITV, so extrapolating that I suspect kids are already watching ITV2 more anyway. Indeed ITVBe is only at 0.15% so may be next in the firing line. For the record "ITV Non-Linear" (so ITVX) has 0.95% and "STV Non-Linear" at 0.03%.

Let's all come together and celebrate the legacy of citv. It started around the same time i came into the world, i used to watch the preschool slot religiously, as well as a lot of horrid henry. I wasn't as good as cbbc, but i appreciated it. The channel's loss will leave a big hole in my heart, so as the sun sets on one era, let us look forward to a new beginning for kids content on itv. To citv, and itvx kids!

Following on from my post from a couple of days ago about ITVX for kids... turns out it does have kids profiles, but only on some devices. It can be done on a browser but only as a new account, not paired with an adult one.

Citv looks like it will be looping the itvx kids promo, now with an updated citv is closed announcement, with a itvx slide inbetween. That's what appeared to happen after dave spud. Funnily enough, the channel went off in the middle of the promo, right after she said citv is closed
