RE: Paul O’Grady Has Died - London Lite - 29-03-2023

I used to go to the filming of his C4 and ITV chat shows. Paul's comedy was even more funny during the commercial breaks and also had a strong sense of social justice.

Incidentally.....

Well worthy of a thread. Almost had two TV careers - hugely successful as Lily and then managed to find huge success as himself too, plus his stage career too. Apparently he was last on stage in Annie on Saturday.

Well more the case of no free slots in primetime as they wouldn't want to bump The Bay. The Chase is often their highest rating show outside of the soaps anyway so of the non-soap slots that probably has the most eyeballs on it anyway.

For the Love of Paul O'Grady is scheduled on ITV1 on Easter Sunday at 8pm.

The final series of For the Love of Dogs will be on ITV1 on Thursday's from April 13th as planned.

Interesting, 20:30 on Thursdays.

It’s the only half hour slot left during the week, don’t STV opt out? I’m not really across how often Tonight airs either.

It’s such a wonderful show, so hopefully these last episodes spread some joy.

Been reminded of that ridiculous time when Paul first moved to Channel 4 and ITV put up 18 month old repeats of his show up against it. Lasted about a week, not sure how anyone thought it was a good idea.

They were probably hoping people wouldn't realise he'd moved channels. Obviously, it didn't work.

If STV opts out of Love of Dogs' timeslot, then they'll just have to schedule it elsewhere. Wouldn't be the first time they had to move a networked show due to a local programme.

This news comes a shock, as I saw an advert with him on the other day (not sure what it was for but it was like a charity appeal video for dogs)

STV will broadcast it at 22.45 on thursday, that were Tonight goes. However STV has to have local programmes in peak. The other slot is 7pm Fridays.

Sad news today, I used to watch the Paul O’Grady show on ITV1 then on Channel 4 then back on ITV1 regularly. The best bit was always the first part where he’d bring on Buster or Olga who would invariably turn their bum to the camera as Paul read viewers letters, and then pretend to get offended

Two funny clips
Joyce dressed as a rapper, as you do, but saying ‘Homo’ instead of ‘Homie’

Was quite the introduction to the Love of Dogs special at 5pm today... mainly because they paid tribute to Paul but also had to explain why everyone would be referring to the Queen Consort by her old title..
