Not too much of a surprise, given his long standing health issues, but awful news all the same.

I guess unless he’s recorded his show, he won’t be heard on Boom this Easter.

Wow. This is so sad to read.

www.bbc.co.uk

A statement which was released said he passed away unexpectedly but peacefully.

I loved watching him on The Paul O'Grady Show on Channel 4. He was a great presenter of that show back then. He was really funny as well. Some of the Youtube clips were side splittingly funny.

RIP Paul. You will be missed. Big time.

Absolutely shocked by this news. There is so much that could be said, but I can't really put any of it into words.

My thoughts are with his family and his many friends. May he rest in peace.

I kissed a gull and I liked it!

I'm not sure you need to guess this. You just need a basic understanding of how radio and death works to be able to say with 100% certainty that unless he’s recorded his show, he won’t be heard on Boom this Easter.

What shocking news. I know that he’s had health issues in the past but because he’s bounced back in the past I didn’t expect his passing anytime soon. He was such an entertaining person whether as Lily or Paul in everything he did. For years I’ve enjoyed his work on The Big Breakfast, Lily Live, Blankety Blank, the many versions of The Paul O’Grady Show on TV, his documentaries, For the love of dogs and his Radio 2 show.
He had the art of being naturally funny in everything that he did from presenting shows to being interviewed. He will be greatly missed.

It feels unexpected because he was still doing TV and radio projects. I half expected him to end up having a regular Boom Radio show. Very sad.

His Radio 2 show was a lovely warm programme that really connected with its audience. Quite the contrast to his loud TV chat show (which was also great).

I noticed that the news broke in the middle of the night which is an odd time because normally this sort of news is usually embargoed until 6am.
