No it was a repeat of the series that ran last Autumn so the BBC can get away with replacing it with the Lily Savage Blankety Blank as it was down as a repeat anyway.

I think it was Series 1 they’re repeating? Doesn’t look like it’s on next weekend anyway.

Obviously it’s for horrible reasons, but it would’ve been a better way of them canning Challenge for now….

Was a poor form O’Grady not let them know before they made the schedule change.

Obviously were other shows in the 90s which switched from ITV to the BBC too, notably This is Your Life and Through the Keyhole.

The first BBC One revival was made by Fremantle UK IIRC it was taken over by Grundy in 1999 who continued to make it on ITV. Thames was responsible for the 2016 ITV revival and the current BBC revival. The original run was a BBC production as indies weren't around until the creation of Channel 4.

Fremantle, Grundy and Thames are/were basically all different brand names of the same company anyway.

I've seen the unedited Lily Savage Blankety Blank recordings and they're such a joy to watch, it's a wonder they had any useable footage.

Ha, obviously not how I meant it! But they would’ve got a lot less flack if the schedule went from Challenge to the Tribute instead of sticking Royal docs in there

On wiki the last half of the final Lily ITV series is marked as unaired Do Challenge show those episodes?

Yes, all 8 of the unaired episodes have been shown on Challenge.

RE: Paul O’Grady Has Died - James2001 - 01-04-2023

Challenge have premiered quite a fair number of episodes of shows that never got aired originally. The Supermarket Sweep revival is another example.

Can’t find it in better quality unfortunately but here’s Paul on the Radio Times cover in 2006 with the other stars of Channel 4 daytime:

Channel 4 had a great daytime line-up back then.
