Why not still use the 2007 titles ones? Why not just sit the presenter in a cupboard with no titles or elements at all? Consistency and looking professional is important. Would ITV or Sky News be outputting hacked titles like this if they had the chance? No. They wouldn't and never have.

It's severely damaging the look of brand. Whether a full new look is on the cards or not, the current concoction that's currently running really can't continue. They need to have a bit of a rethink and pretty quickly.
I wish they did still use the 2007 titles! I always thought they were much slicker than what replaced them. Sadly, I’m not convinced there will be a rethink, at least in the short term. There should be - I totally agree with you - but branding does seem to be something of an afterthought chez BBC these days. Look at how BBC Two kept using those 90s idents with the box slapped on in the corner - not to mention those ghastly end boards - for much of last decade.

So they are actually showing News at 6 instead of sticking with World's rolling Trump coverage? Bizarre....

Their response, in all sincerity: “Very well”.

Deborah Turness also apparently told a conference call this morning how pleased she was - which makes you wonder whether any of them have seen more than two minutes of it.

Oh for the love of god. Are they really having a laugh? If not, nothing surprises me anymore.

I'll leave this here...

This I find absurd. Simulcasting a BBC One bulletin during an international breaking story. This is a time when you should be sticking with World.

Dropping the Six though reduces the volume of UK opt output. I'm also not sure, from the start of the Six, that the story is going to move on whilst the Six is on air so it probably is the right decision.

If you’re going to be sh*t, be sh*t on one version of the channel not both… just let world cut away and the UK continue obvious. 🤦🏼‍♂️

It wasn't a break, it was for a random 5 minute episode of The Travel Show.

Yesterday, World had a 5 minute episode of Click repeated at around 0:52 at the end some hours throughout the day, today it's 5 minute episodes of The Travel Show.

Can a World viewer explain to me what the point of these random 5 minute programs at the end of some hours, but not others, are actually for?
Not a clue and I been watching world since 2000, I was watching yesterday and this new channel makes no sense to people who been so used to one channel style which worked for years.

RE: BBC News Pres: Apr 2023 - Present (News Channel/BBC One) - ALV - 04-04-2023

At the end of the NaS, the UK feed used an opt-in sting with a voiceover from the World feed announcer, then faded into the World feed for continuing coverage:

"Breaking news from around the world, 24 hours a day. - This is BBC News."

Btw does anyone know the name of the announcer for the World feed ident? I've never seen anyone mentioned it back in the TVF era. This female announcer has been around at least during the red clamshell era on BBC World. I actually like her voice but sometimes certain voiceovers are recorded in a hurry and sounded weird.

What can you chop down to 5 minutes on a programme like that?

Was it... 'Welcome to Mexico, you can go Loco in Acapulco. That's all we've got time for now, thanks for watching and goodbye'.

Apologies if I missed the post, but is the early morning London shift now 5am-7.40am as Victoria Valentine was on until then followed by a filler show on the World feed.

Which is on BBC One.

What exactly are the BBC scared of here? I’m getting more as a license fee payer if World is on the News Channel and the 6 is on BBC One.
