During the F1 ad breaks on Friday I saw one which had different people from across the country singing the national anthem. Think there was a Sky Showcase and a Sky News logo on the endboard but the voicover only said Sky News.

Here's details of GB News coverage, which sees a welcome return to the screen for Alastair Stewart. He will be alongside Nigel Farage and David Starkey from 10am.

In French-speaking Switzerland, RTS1 will show a Charles documentary followed by the Coronation.

Quote:The day will begin, as it does every day on GB News, with the UK National Anthem. “God Save the King”

I forget that isn't a parody.

Related to the Coronation the Metropolitan Police published a documentary “Operation London Bridge”.

Who’s producing main feed of the Coronation in UHD HDR? Is it BBC Studios? However with such a large area I have to assume there is contribution from other networks.

Is it right to infer that the main coverage will be produced in UHD HDR and downscaled and converted to SDR?

Since I’m out of the country does YouTube allow automatic HDR to SDR conversion? Of course that’s if the UHD SkyNews feed is uploaded in HDR? Maybe Peacock which carries Sky News as a virtual channel will take the native stream. They air content in UHD HDR.

RE: Coronation of King Charles III - Technologist - 03-05-2023

BBC studios for the ceremony UHD HDR
… with some pooled for “outside” and not all UHD origination

UHD HDR HLG will be colour mapped and SDR and down converted….

I have a feeling that Peacock is PQ not HLG…..
as it seem to be in you tube

TF1 coverage starts at 9am local time with Anne-Claire Coudray and Gilles Bouleau followed by a documentary about a supposed duel between Kate and Meghan in typical trashy TF1 style.

France 2 coverage starts at 9.20am local time with Julian Bugier followed by a Stephane Bern programme looking back at previous Royal weddings.

News wise full half hour bulletins on BBC1 and ITV1 in the evening and an hour on C4, but just the standard 5 minute weekend update on C5 which feels like a failure of public service.

Exactly, you'd expect C5 to have an hour long news on Saturday as well

I don't think news is really a priority for Channel 5 (hence why on weekdays it's tucked away at 5pm). If they could ditch it completely, I suspect they would. (I could maybe see the hour-long bulletin being axed in favour of the hourly updates returning at some point).
