A few more changes this year…

- The Big Five and Sweden will perform their songs live during the Semi Finals, slotted in alongside the competing semi finalists, rather than the snippets being shown during the interval.

- Grand Final voting will open at the beginning of the show, as 'all acts will have performed live' already, and they feel there won't be an unfair advantage to the Big Five.

- Rest of the World voting opens after the jury shows, giving 24 hours for non-competing countries to vote.

Just seen a very interesting tweet from Edward af Sillen, who is back writing for this year's shows, saying that the backlash to Loreen's win last year from fans almost caused him to turn down the gig for 2024

The running orders for the semi-finals were announced a few days ago - now also including the positions where the pre-qualified finalists (BIG 5 + Hosts) will perform their songs in full:

Well this happened at BBC Scotland (their main building in Glasgow, plus 4 other locations in Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Selkirk and Dumfries) today (6th April), as pro-Palestinian protesters gathered there calling the BBC not to broadcast the Eurovision Song Contest over Israel's inclusion: https://planetradio.co.uk/clyde/local/news/boycott-eurovision-protests-scotland/

Well, it seems to have worked, everyone is now turning their ire directly on the EBU instead for not issuing a direct ban, like they had with Russia and Belarus.

I sense this could get a lot worse, shades of the situation in 1979 potentially
