Yes, but you would have to specifically go back to check the clock or slate, it's not something you'd see just before it goes to air as it plays from the first frame of the programme. That kind of check is something that BBC playout routinely does, for example, but I'd expect it's not standard practice in a news gallery where they're playing reports and clips far more often than programmes.

For such a small space, they use the studio very well, as do Sport for the rest of the day.

The lighting changes are very subtle but effective. Much of the skill of clever set design is being able to alter lighting to suit the mood. The LED screens are also used so well in that studio.

I'm sure this wasn't the view we were supposed to get at 06:00 as part of the titles instead of the outside of the the studio with CGI clock/date and balcony . . .

I assume it wasn't deliberate but does also explain why you usually see Ben walking to his camera shot in that opening shot.

Not sure if this is permanent or a secondment, but business news presenter Hannah Miller is now part off the political team, reporting out of Westminster.

Seems a bit strange to lose a business news presenter given that Nina Warhurst is on maternity leave and (occasional cover) Victoria Valentine has left the BBC.

That said I imagine the politics team might be bolstered pre-election. I'm also not sure if anyone has moved out - Jess Parker has also returned after being a Europe correspondent.

There's only been one departure from the BBC political reporting team in the last few months (Jonathan Blake), but three additions, including a new Chief Political Correspondent in Henry Zeffman.  In any case, it appears that the BBC are beefing up their (political) reporting team on both sides of the Atlantic in anticipation of the two elections next year, hence Emma Vardy moving to Los Angeles, when she's finished her maternity leave.

Going back to the business news on Breakfast, it was presented today by someone called Peter; I presume he's one of Radio 5Live's early morning money presenters, so going forward one expects him to be a relief presenter on Breakfast's business slot, coupled with his regular radio slot (in the same way as Sean Farrington a few years ago).

Peter Ruddick has been in the business/work and money team for a while. He has done some reporting but I think this was his first time presenting.
