It's a shame we no longer get the Christmas iteration of the sting-titles.

Breakfast is in single-header mode again for Christmas Eve/Day and probably Boxing Day, and Roger stuck his name on the roster as usual - at least for today.

Normally on these days at least you get to throw to the 'back-half-hour' segments and chance to have a chat with the in-studio sports and weather presenters. It's not as though you're stuck in a cupboard on your own with only gallery talkback for company these days.

However, as we all know, nasty things have a habit of happening in the world when they are least expected, so you've still got to be ready for anything. Confused

At the end of the programme, he mentioned It’s Jon tomorrow and then Roger again on Boxing Day

Hardly news, is it. Person gets married.

It was mentioned on both the “One” and the “Six” today

Weirdly, in context in the throw to the weather I can accept it, but as an article - which someone has been paid, through our taxes, to write which is nothing more than blowing smoke up a colleague's backside because they did what thousands of other people do every year - it's just lazy 'journalism'.

Out of interest, did they run a story when she got divorced in 2008 as well?

Oh come on - it's firstly the period after Christmas which is a mini-silly season anyway, and she's hardly some two pence influencer. This is somebody BBC News readers and viewers will be aware of and likely wish well. I'm guessing it was a brief mention of congratulations to a colleague rather than the top story. And it's also a little bit of good news in a time when much of the headlines aren't.

Aren’t you a delight today Mike.
Light and shade in the news.
Many celebratory weddings get reported.
Your assertion that someone has been paid to write what you don’t consider journalism is flawed.
Someone would have been on shift writing up many stories, this was one of them.
Someone actually using work time to work.. whatever next
