I seldom buy a matchday programme when I go to watch my football team of choice playing, but I have done so today.

It includes an advert for football commentaries on my local BBC radio station... complete with an *old* BBC Sounds logo. I rolled my eyes so hard, I saw my brain.

BBC Studio's annual Showcase event finally adopted the new blocks, though calling it 'new-look' is a bit of a stretch:

As does so much new content commissioned for this year. The odd few have the new logo but the majority seem to have the old.

It reminds me of the changeover to the 1988 logo when the previous rounded version took years to disappear from the copyright notice at the end of programmes.

Although that was at a time when consistent corporate branding wasn’t seen as important.

Though, of course, an easy contrast to the 1997 changeover when considerable effort was made to ensure that programmes switched logo as the channels did - some programmes even switching mid series.

Can't help but think the gap between the name and the BBC Weather logo is too big.
