Incidentally, the image of the piazza that Sky News have been using appears to be one that has been taken very recently, as the screen showing BBC News has the red bar behind the logo.

The BBC blocks logo will be updated on EastEnders and New Broadcasting House *just after* Christa Ackroyd returns to ITV News Calendar.

I never knew that the letters were slightly redrawn, you learn something new everyday!

In the original screenshots you saw Robert, was the layout similar to what we have now with the logo at the top of the screen or was it something different? I know it’s what you get used to but rhe spliting of the bbc logo and channel name still looks odd to me.

If the original plan was to keep the old logo, would that have been animated in the same way as then new one is? Am I correct in thinking that part of the rules around using the old logo it wasn’t to animate although it did in the top of the pops opening.

It does seem to make sense that it was more a last minute impulsive decision due to some of issues with the design when used at small sizes.

It’s not a good look either if they originally weren’t going to change the logo as it wasn’t cost effective and then did it anyway.

I will say one of my bug bears i have had since they introduced the boxed channel logos and with this look is that the titles for the news included a channel box logo

BBC Sport NI is not passing the chameleon test.

There was a live BBC Sport Northern Ireland production on network BBC Two earlier. I imagine he’s referring to some of the printed branding having the old logo on, which also seems to happen on a lot of network originated stuff. To be fair all the correct current BBC Sport graphics seemed to be used.

It seems that there's a new FAST channel on the BBC iPlayer

Just a slight irony of the BBC pointing out that Musk has "finally" put new signs up after the Twitter rebrand whilst still having the old logo on the front of NBH

The BBC buildings at MediaCityUK are still absolutely caked with the old logo. I don't think I saw the new one once anywhere. The reception area of Quay House is particularly full of them with loads of lightboxes on the wall featuring 10 year old channel and service logos, there was even one for the BBC HD channel (and no I doubt it was for the surviving maritime channel!). Hopefully they will get a bit of a refresh when Bridge House closes in the spring.

Meanwhile in London, the new BBC music studios in Stratford have already got their Chameleon blocks despite the building being some way off completion. The renders have logos on the top of the building too.

Wow, some shocking architecture on show here!

What's is interesting however is the BBC logo fits into its own little niche in the concrete making the Chameleon logo fairly hard wired into this building.
