I don't think any section of our media, print or TV, have come out of these past few months looking particularly good. First with Phillip now Huw. Two people who have broken no laws but who's careers have been ruined by our media who's giddy 24/7 speculationathons whipped up a frenzied public mob into playing judge, jury and executioner. The way tricky breaking stories like these are covered needs to be looked into before someone gets killed.

Of the News channel team, I do think Matthew Amroliwala would be quite a decent shout.

I think Christian Fraser would be a good replacement for General Elections.

The story has moved on now, but I’m not sure Jeremy Vine has come out of this well, making it all about him, and I actually agree with Richard Bacon. Vine seemed to making a lot of fuss over being accused for five minutes and demanding the presenter reveal themselves.

I’m sorry - why on earth are people speculating as to who his ‘successor’ might be?
You think he’s going to be sacked because he’s been buying some porn in his private life? Or because he met someone during Covid from a dating app?
Unless there is a lot we don’t know about, there is no basis for him to be sacked.
Christ the past few days on this have been disgusting - and BBC News really need to look hard at how they’ve covered this, and are still covering it. The Sun have the biggest questions to answer, but how the BBC jumped on the bandwagon of such half baked tittle tattle has been grotesque.

He did come in for daytime coverage of the last US Presidential election and done some other specials for US elections from what I can remember, so has done some election programmes before. A good shout for me as well.

The BBC go very W1A on their own scandals these days. To quote David Tennant, "In the name of impartiality, the BBC's coverage of itself must be more negative than anyone else's."
Feel so sorry for Huw and his family right now.
