Well even with six on the final night (which was always too many, even the first time C4 did it back in BB7) they'd still need to get two out a week with the show just running six weeks.

Be interesting to see if they’ve got any local council restrictions this time round. In Elstree the planning permission meant they could have up to two live evictions a week and no outdoor tasks or even loudspeaker announcements after 8pm as it was so close to a residential area. Whereas this time it’s in what looks like an entirely industrial area so presumably will be much freer.

The daily spin off is so unnecessary too - would have been fat better to invest in a 24/7 live feed which would have been such an easy win and put them on the front foot from the beginning.

Also hope the short run comes with a suitable number of housemates - 10 is plenty for a 6 week show with 5 scheduled evictions, but the show has a history (back to the C4 days in fact) of casting a short series as if it were running for 3 months.
Exactly this - with the theming and vibe they have going on it feels a lot more Channel 5. Their hopes for it all seem to be promising and I’m impressed with them going for putting it on ITV1 as well as 2… but I don’t see why they made the initial impressions of it all quite so tacky and garish. With it seeming quite stripped back while they ease themselves back into it all; I think something a lot more minimal would’ve worked much better, just like what they were doing with the early C4 era.

They’re also promoting it very very well which I’m pleasantly surprised with. I thought it might not do well because I was hardly seeing anything about it anywhere - but over the past week or so I’ve not been able to get away from it. It’s just a shame that it’s this level of marketing isn’t also combined with something that doesn’t look like a pile of neon Gill Sans vomit.

Well it is the London Borough of Brent's byelaws this time around, yes I had an itch to look it up. So whatever bits they have to adhere to it is Brent's laws.

Lot of speculation and hype about what the house will look like and no pictures today apparently but this is going to be included. A double-height living area with an overlooking mezzanine

It was also confirmed in BroadcastNow.com that the living room will be 2 levels, similar to Big Brother Canada and US or at least a mezzanine. It makes since and saves room. Since the height of the studio building is higher and you need less overall floorspace to construct the house. If you cant go out....Go up!  I  cant wait to see how they designed it. Im sure it will be much better than the US house.  Im thinking will be modern. But looking at the backyard and logo design. I hope it doesnt look all crazy and super colourful. Tongue

Deadline.com has an interesting tidbit. So apparently the producers looked at the other versions for inspiration. But will the UK version get the VOICE of Big Brother like the Australia. From what Im reading the UK version will have a VOICE.  Also the house will have skylights in addtion to the Mezzanine level.

Quote:The team has also learned from the flood of international versions that have launched in the five-year interim period, according to Manley, who points to successful iterations in the likes of The Netherlands, Mexico and Australia, along with the evergreen Big Brother U.S. on CBS.

Initial was particularly inspired by the pre-recorded Australian version, which influenced the casting and voiceover on the upcoming Big Brother UK.

Building the house INSIDE a studio was always the best option than a purpose built structure. The options are virtually endless and cost effective than trying to significantly modify a purpose structure because you dont have to worry about a roof and foundations and all the malarkey. You can basically build anything (within reason) inside a studio space.

Just a thought, but this revival means that Big Brother will now have been on all four major UK broadcasters (the BBC had a few episodes of the first Celebrity BB due to it being a Comic Relief thing). Are there any other shows that have accomplished this?

I absolutely loved Big Brother’s Biggest Best Bits. Iconic moments and housemates. I especially loved the opening.

Great that ITV didn’t shy away from the Channel 5 years, unlike Channel 4 in 2020 with Best Shows Ever.

Would somebody be able to cap the end credits? My house decided to have a power cut towards the end!
