So now both BBC and ITV have inconsistent logos on the EPG. What's going on with branding these days!

RE: ITV (Wider Group) Branding - Blubatt - 08-11-2022

On one hand, it is very much a sign of a last minute delay to rebranding. I would imagine that had they launched the new look on the 3rd, then the addition of ITV HD channels to Freesat, it would have been one big thing. On the other hand, it will at least be a preview for people to actually see the new logos on a TV screen, albeit very small

The logos on the Freesat EPG have reverted to the current ones.

I am quite surprised BBC haven’t updated their logos on the EPG yet, especially as it’s been a year now since they introduced the new logos. I know they said it will be a gradual thing due to cost constraints but it does look a bit dated now compared to the newer logos for 3 & 4… maybe they’re waiting for the regional rollouts of the HD channels? But as it’s been mentioned just, it looks like it’s been reverted to the current logos on Freesat for the ITV channels… maybe Freesat got a bit too trigger happy and put the wrong logos on!

Presumably an indicator of what’s to come ITV wide. Can’t be long now, I don’t think.

I think the pairing of the serif font with the main font works quite nicely. It all looks a little more friendlier/sophisticated type wise as well, than I was expecting from the numbers in the logo and the HD tag. Pretty clean.

Tweet has been deleted, what did it say?

It’s this tweet - don’t know why they deleted that one. https://twitter.com/itvx/status/1590290402468564993

Still nothing official about what is happening with UTV...

Will it finally become ITV 1 NI? (The upcoming rebrand would be a great time to do it).
Will NI content be available on the Hub/X? (Could have its own Fast channel/section instead of just on the clunky 'itv.com/utvprogrammes' site)
If the UTV remains, what will its on-screen look be?

Here is another view of that trailer.

Not keen on the mix of fonts, especially that 'Exclusive' font, and where it's used again at the end.

And 'ITVX Exclusive' is a bit of a mouthful, it should be ITVXclusive Smile

RE: ITV (Wider Group) Branding - orange - 09-11-2022

Oh that endcap is really lovely actually! I can imagine they’re going to use the same flashing icon graphic with all channels (i.e. the 1 instead of the X) and the whole motion design is really fresh.

Not at all keen on the “itv X EXCLUSIVE” graphic at the start however - does not work at all. Other than that, the mixed typography is very interesting to look at, I’m glad to see they’ve done it in a tasteful way. As similar as it is to Freevee…

They’ve very much done it by the book of what’s trendy in design at the minute - but they’ve done it in a way that i’m not mad at yet. Excited to see more!
