Gordon made his debut this morning. He seems to have done rather well by all accounts. Caught some of it out of interest and was impressed. He's got a good journalistic pedigree. I like him. I hope we'll get to see him crop up more regularly.

Gordon Smart was infact linked to the aborted News UK TV, where he was due to present an entertainment programme called 'News to Me'.

I have been very impressed with Gordon Smart.

Maybe they have finally found a more permanent Monday to Wednesday host?

He seems a little nervous at times but asks great questions and seems warm and humorous.

Best choice by far. I guess it all depends on how he glues with Ms Reid!

I always rated him when he used to be a regular on the likes of the Xtra Factor and More Talent. Done quite a bit of broadcasting since then on radio and doesn't seem as tarnished by his role at The Sun as some others. They are long overdue a permanent replacement - he's been received pretty well and is likely someone who could in theory commit to at least three days a week during term time.

As is effectively tradition, GMB have made a few small tweaks to start the New Year, with the titles/opening sequence getting a few tweaks

They've replaced the '5 segment' ITV logo with one that's just plain white.  However, that is still the corporate logo, so it seems odd to stop using it. Unless, of course, ITV are about to start some external signage tinkering.

A shame to see the five segment logo being slowly faded out, definitely my preferred version.

Those new titles look like a mock from one of this sites predecessors. The way the white ITV logo animates looks significantly worse than the previous version and it stands out terribly against the background of the Thames.

Did anyone else get whiplash from that first camera pan?

A good day for GMB apparently
