RE: Good Morning Britain - GMc - 20-01-2024

I wonder if anyone knows what the newsroom set-up is for GMB. Do they have some sort of newsgathering operation at TVC, or are the journalists, editors, etc based at ITN?

Newsroom operation for GMB is separate to ITN.

Looks like Ben is indeed heading to This Morning, I hope they do commit to a permanent lineup as a result. I’m not sure they can really rely on not having any proper partnerships on any day of the week.

From what I’ve seen Richard and Ed are essentially the main co-presenters, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see them take Mon-Weds and Thurs-Fri respectively.

I don’t think either of them want to work every week, Madeley who is semi retired in particular

More or less word for word what you said on 15th December it seems… ultimately, it’s up the to the production team/presenters etc on who does what

What about Sean Fletcher or Richard Gaisford to cover Ben? Potential appearances for Paul Brand, Rob Rinder and Martin Lewis.

I think Ed and Susannah work very well together and maybe Richard could be a stand in.

Grumpy git alert….

I know today is Groundhog Day… but the most of this GMB thread seems to focus on an urge for a permanent presenting pair and a few forum members seemingly irritated a show cannot have a pool of presenters rather than a fixed presenter each day….

Considering how infrequently they've used Sean Fletcher for a decade I can't see him suddenly getting a regular role.

A shame really it looks like Ben will leave just before they hit the 10 year mark and it moves a problem from one show to another, but hopefully it'll finally see them put a permanent co-host for Susanna in place.

Huw Edwards may be up for it after his BBC exit comes to a conclusion. He has expressed interest in joining the show a year or so ago.
