RE: Hits Radio Rebrand Rollout - scottishtv - 21-04-2024

A couple of before and afters here.

I was too late to get the sung TOTH from Hallam FM Breakfast (as they were only playing Hits countdowns instead) but here we go:

Before: https://up.metropol247.co.uk/scottishtv/240415_HallamBreakfast_PreHits.mp3

After (version 1): https://up.metropol247.co.uk/scottishtv/240419_HallamBreakfast_PostHits.mp3

After (version 2): https://up.metropol247.co.uk/scottishtv/240419_HallamBreakfast_PostHitsv2.mp3

The bottom of the hour Breakfast news update:

Before: https://up.metropol247.co.uk/scottishtv/240415_HallamHitsNewsUpdate.mp3

After: https://up.metropol247.co.uk/scottishtv/240419_HallamHitsNewsUpdate.mp3

Everything else is all much of a much-ness.

Amusing little compilation from Alec Feldman about making just that bit extra effort into local split links (pre-rebrand)

And in similar vein, going the whole hog and opting out of the network - in this case, a rare Manchester-only show for last year's FA Cup Final.

They contain nothing that would capture the imagination of potential new listeners.

You can view some of the outdoor activations here: https://radiotoday.co.uk/2024/04/hits-radio-launches-national-tv-campaign-as-heritage-services-rebrand/

The GHR House of Greatest Hits campaign was excellent by comparison.

My main Takeaway from this is that "Newcastle Gateway" is apparently in Leeds according to Bauer

Someone else spotted this a few pages back. It's presumably just a simulation and not meant to be completely realistic - in fairness, it looks like a fairly generic road unless you happen to know where it is; I personally would have had no idea. But it's a little unfortunate.

Does Stephanie Hirst always host her weekend shows from the old Radio Aire Studios?
I always had the impression she hosted them from Manchester

She’s previously shared plenty of other photos of her in the studio in Manchester, so it would seem she normally does the show from Castle Quay.

She's worked from Radio Aire (as was) from time to time covering for Steve Priestley as part of the bizarre dance that is the GHR local licenses. In those the Yorkshire regions have to take an afternoon show from Yorkshire, so they've always done it from the Leeds site. So I guess it depends if she's on that duty as well.

I know that she cover's Steve Priestley from time to time on GHR whenever he's on Holiday.

But as far as I'm aware, the GHR reigional requirement is Monday-Friday afternoons.

Most likely scenerio is that she must have a quota to do x amount of Hits Radio Shows from the old Radio Aire studios, either that or she must have chose to host from Leeds for a change

RE: Hits Radio Rebrand Rollout - Stooky Bill - 08-05-2024

I suppose it depends where she's based, and which studio is most convienient for both her and Bauer at that time.

A good excuse to post this great video she made returning to the studios in Leeds for her 30th radio anniversary
