That feels like crossing a line to me.

Have to agree, given the circumstances.
I believe the Heno team did it off their own back for their socials - not that they're especially known for their hard / breaking news coverage, then Newyddion picked it up (all part of the website being an in-house S4C service, not wholly dependent on the Beeb)
Never been much of a fan of Angharad Mair, either - bit of a Marmite character who doesn't hide her politics (she was PR chief for the YesCymru movement for a time, while continuing as editor on Heno)

ITV’s arts and entertainment series Backstage returns tonight in the 7pm slot, replacing Deal or No Deal.
Bit of a surprising choice of opt-out slot, to be honest (although it has jumped around the schedules from series to series - initially midweek post-NaT, then on Fridays at 7pm)

Makes sense to opt out of a repeat and there are far fewer opportunities to opt out on weeknights now since the soap reshuffle.

Not sure if there is some technical issue in the studio, but Jonathan Hill presented the first half of ITV Wales at Six standing up next to one of the screens on the side of the studio. The first half of the bulletin was all dedicated to the one story (the guilty verdict of former teacher Neil Foden), with the rest of the news presented from behind the desk as normal.
Whilst that set-up is what happens for sport and weather, it is very rare the main presenter is doing anything but sitting behind the desk. If this was by choice, a welcome change as it does highlight how monotonous the presentation of this programme often can be.

Zoe Thomas (or Zoe Tape, as she was known in her HTV sports reporting days) is the new head of ITV Wales output, succeeding Phil Henfrey after his departure for OFCOM.
She was previously editor for non-news local programming in English.

No late bulletin from Wales Today - ended up with BBC London News instead.
Checked Radio Wales and Radio Cymru and they seem to be going out fine.

Lucy Owen did appear on the screen behind Rita on the handover, so it wasn't a complete break down.

As it transpired, they didn't opt out until mid-bulletin - hence the hasty apology from Lucy once they were put on-air midway through a package on Rishi Sunak's visit to Barry.
