That's very surprising. Who knew TV networks are still this uptight.

Plus, their flagship 5pm news is to return to the 1 hour format, plus a Queensland local bulletin from Sydney (they're currently simulcasting the Brisbane bulletin). Details are expected during the upfronts at the end of October.
10's late news is to be called 10 at 10: The Late News, starting first on streaming at 10, then onto the network at 10.30.

That's diffrent from the current news brand they're using or that in their PR photos:

Odd to give it an "at 10" suffix when it won't air at 10 on network and the various timezones means it'll only be at 10 on 10Play in the AEST zone.

The axe keeps swinging at Newshub... The Project, Three's port of the synonymous Aussie programme, is said to be cut by the end of this year. WBD is looking at starting a new show at their 7pm timeslot. Tonight's edition is shelved as a result.

Ukrainian television news channel Espreso presented a new logo and graphic design after 2,6 years (Suspilne did not pull so much) of waiting for the redesign.

The first bells and whistles of the redesign were see back in April 2021 in the Mykola Kniazhytskyi's programme "Vechir" (Evening), after the channel moved to its new headquarters in Lviv. New colours, KyivType fonts and dynamic graphics that look much better than previous ones. And if we compare the promo version with the graphics of this programme, the difference is significant.

But, it was stopped during full-scale invasion. However, on 24 February 2022, during the showing of the 2014 video "Stop The War", the channel's new logo was revealed (but this fragment was not recorded by me).

CTV in Canada is launching a new early evening edition of the CTV National News at 5:30 PM local time. It will air between CTV's existing local 5 PM and 6 PM newscasts. They will also be competing against Global National, which has been at 5:30/6:30 PM since its inception.

Looks that means they are doing some local news cuts 5pm news in most areas was an hour, Toronto they simulcast CP24 at 5 and 5:30pm . Interesting to see them also wanting to compete with a national newscast, it's been interesting to me that Canada national newscasts aren't on against each other, compared to the US (in most markets) and ITV and BBC having national news both at ten. Good to see Sandie Rinaldo getting a promotion.

Interesting move - Global National has pretty much had the slot to itself by now, though IIRC, CBC attempted an early evening bulletin for a few years in the form of Canada Now (incorporating both local and national news)

No immediate mention of local news cutbacks in this instance (save for the National newsroom providing content to local newscasts at weekends)

That said, in June, there were huge layoffs at Bell Media, who then sought regulatory approval to drop all licence obligations for local news output on CTV and CTV2 (or at least the weekly quotas) - did the CRTC come back with a decision?

Sandie's also marking her 50th anniversary at CTV this year - marked by two prime-time documentary specials.

Hoy Infotainment (Hoy 78), Hong Kong, 1/11/2023. Almost a year after going on air, their lower thirds have changed to a rounder, more 3D style.

The station DOG also changed to "Hoy 78", denoting their channel number, following their English sister channel's rename to Hoy 76 (on station DOG)/Hoy IBC (official name) (https://pres.cafe/showthread.php?tid=27&pid=52522#pid52522 ).

Youtube livestreams don't embed a preview here IIRC, so here's a capture courtesy of HKEPC Forum (https://www.hkepc.com/forum/redirect.php?goto=findpost&ptid=2486327&pid=41926247 ).
Note the financial indices is stuck to the bottom right, while the clock was moved to the bottom.

This needs some time getting used to, compared to the previous flat look:

Right now, the local 5 PM newscasts are staying put, it's just that they'll only be 30 minutes long now instead of 1 hour.

The CP24 5:30 newscast also might continue on CP24 only while CFTO/CTV Toronto airs the new 5:30 show. CP24 has their own 11 PM newscast when CTV National News at 11 is on.

There's 2 stations that will be impacted more than the others:

- CTV Atlantic: will they be getting a 5:30 PM Atlantic time edition, or simulcast with the CTV stations in the eastern time zone and air it at 6:30 PM Atlantic time? This will affect either their highly popular 5 PM news magazine, or their equally popular 6 PM news cast.

- NTV Newfoundland: That station carries CTV News programming mixed in with Global's news and entertainment programming. Global National airs at 7 PM NT/6:30 PM AT/5:30 PM ET. Is NTV going to carry the new CTV 5:30 show? If so, does Global National move to 7:30, or be off of NTV's schedule completely? If there's a 5:30 PM AT edition created, does that mean NTV carries it at 6 PM in place of their highly popular Evening News Hour?
