There was a full playout of the BBC News sombre countdown sequence shortly before 6pm on BBC One.
Oddly, BBC One (England HD) abruptly cut away from the 6pm news programme, shortly after it started.
EDIT: looks like BBC One HD took the News Channel during the regional news rather than putting up the usual red screen notice.

I presume that was on the HD channel, as there was regional news at that time?

BBC One HD (England) has just stayed with the NC when the regions opt-out.

There's a 50fps video here of BBC1, ITV and Channel 4 breaking the news:

The first 10 minutes of BBC coverage after the announcement, I don't think anything after the national anthem has been posted here yet:

I am just watching the replay of the end of the cortege on BBC News. I notice there's a rather neat BBC logo covering the "LIVE" part of the location strap that I don't recall seeing before. Is this something that's been around before, or has it been made for this specifically?
EDIT: Here's a screenshot.

Because the lower third was still present after the anthem complete with clock, we can precisely place the timing of Huw's first announcement to 18:31:44 (or 98 seconds after the tweet announcement at 18:30:06).
In response to the query about if the death certificate would be released; Philip's was released to the extent of it quoting the cause of death, but even that was simply listed as "old age." The exact timing was not mentioned, or at least not reported.

BBC One feed of the News channel going out with only the Live/Locator graphic minus the lower thirds.
Looks much better and cleaner than yesterday.

BBC WN took the News at One simulcast (at 12PM) this afternoon but they opted out after a package at around 12:22. The lower thirds and flipper graphics routed to WN are a bit slower than NC today... A look at the TOTH junction of the "BBC World News at One":
