Still no update to the Apple TV app for iPlayer, still using the old logo and app icon. It's interesting as it's a universal app with the iOS/iPadOS versions, yet hasn't updated along with them.
They've managed to avoid Apple's mandatory update to the tvOS 15 video player too by not updating the app since the deadline - which all the other UK services have adopted (like ITV etc, as well as Netflix).
You have to wonder how much longer they can hold off on all that, as well as implementing subtitles support which is still missing on tvOS.

Forgive me if this has been discussed time and time again, but why is the BBC London feed on iplayer is SD and not HD? It's horrendous when compared to the Wales or Scotland feed.
Even watching a network programme when set to London is just painful!

Does anyone have an answer?
None of the English regions are in HD on iPlayer yet. It sounds like this should be coming in the relatively near future.
S4C's on-demand service is Clic - which is heavily promoted on the channel. Yet now, BBC iPlayer is also tagged on trailers. Is anyone aware of this being a contractual obligation, or is just a prompt for those 'out-of-area' for, or unwilling to sign up to Clic?

If you read the agreement between the BBC and S4C dlo6cycw1kmbs.cloudfront.net
There are a number if references to,S4C content on IPlayer .
Such as
“ 1.1.4. the operation of the wider BBC – S4C partnership, including creative and technology collaboration and provision of S4C content on the BBC iPlayer;”
But no mention of clic

The whole thing started in 2014 when S4C got added to iPlayer. At the time, I don’t think S4C really had much of an online brand or any idea as to how to establish one, so they sort of just jumped on iPlayer to boost their brand awareness I suppose.
Now, in 2022, S4C do have a stronger online presence but the iPlayer thing is still there and for S4C it’s a bonus by having two online presences, one of them being the most-watched free catch-up service in the UK.
