The problem is that although Dave was a success, it didn't translate as well to other channels. And under past leadership, it became a disjointed mess, especially with promoting UKTV Play, so unifying was on the cards, the issue now is the execution - which I guess we'll all see later in the new year.

Meh, I don't think so: Good Food (now gone, but only because it moved to the Discovery's suite of channels), Yesterday, Gold (OK, that's an old one), Really (now Discovery) all are playful and all seem(ed) to "work"

I meant in terms of cross-promotion and viewers' still not understanding the link between the channels and UKTV Play, which in the streaming era
is an issue. Hence this move.
