It's already been announced that there is a new Wallace & Gromit for 2024, so that's nailed on for the idents.

Well it just so happens that a new Wallace and Gromit is due for release next year.
Now, I wouldn't say it's a dead cert for the 2024 Christmas ident.
Then again.........

Not necessarily. Aardman's clay supplier closed down and they bought up the last of their stock. They don't have the clay to spare.

I just don't think these animations are the centre piece of the schedules the idents make them out to be either
You've obviously not been paying attention to BBC One's morning schedules the last few Christmasses.... they've been increasingly back to back Julia Donaldson.
No objection from me, they're great

Seems the reporting was a bit exaggerated, they're fine for clay

Looking at this year's Christmas idents, they seem fine to me.
But I, like some of us here, still wish that we would get a Christmas ident set that matches the Lens concept soon; that kind of thing does require ManvsMachine to do some additional filming, so I kind of understand why they would hold off that idea for now.

I think this has been asked but which of the idents will be the news/serious programming ident?

The press release says three others from 2020 will be re-used. So I assume it will be this one (with corrected branding)

And these two for "News Safe"
www.youtube.com
www.youtube.com
Again, both with corrected branding
