This article says that only Lucy Hockings will have a branded programme from launch, and will be on TV from 12pm-3pm BST.

I wonder if it is 12:00-15:00 GMT instead? I could see a shift pattern of 05:00-08:00; 08:00-11:00; 11:00-14:00 (Hockings); 14:00-17:00; 17:00-20:00; 20:00-22:00 (Fraser). But, unless they'll continue with the split shifts, a 12:00-15:00 shift would mean a lot of unevenness elsewhere.

Let's face it, it could have been a lot worse than Studio J for the UK feed.
Still, that poses the question of just how long the upgrade to E will take to complete? There'll be an awful lot of noise while work is being carried out and it's noisy enough when DTL interviews happen from Studio J.

And what about 13:45 - 14:00? It's weird if they'll be rejoining World at another odd time instead of 1 o'clock presenter doing "Across the UK" thing (which is a very cheap way of boosting 15 mins of UK-specific output).
The information I saw was very specific about the opt ending at 13:45 (well, 12:45 as it was all in GMT) so it'll be back to the news bulletin on the core channel at the time.

Same thoughts, it is going to be weird unless they decide to give one of the chief presenters a two-hour slot, apart from Christian. (E.g. 1500-1800, 1800-2000 or 1500-1700, 1700-2000.) Previously it was Lucy who had two hours, with Yalda and Matthew having three (although in two of those three the back half was not theirs to fill). In this case they might do with three morning shifts, the earlier ones being two hours long, like now: 0500-0700, 0700-0900, 0900-1200.
But then again why would one chief anchor have shorter shifts then another one? I can to a certain degree understand it with Christian, as his show is more anchor-heavy then a newscast with multiple pre-packaged reports, or with early morning shifts.

To make things even stranger is the fact Maryam won't have a fixed slot/program, as she tweeted that she'll be ''covering all the ‘programmes’. Not just one slot.''
There's no doubt she'll be on every day since someone will be absent every day, but still, it's basically 4 London main presenters that have to cover 16 hours or so of London output.

Stand by for the powers that be realizing in the next few months they needed more presenters not less and they end up giving Geeta Guru-Murthy, Shaun Ley, Ben Brown, Annita McVeigh and Martine Croxall their jobs back although i wouldn't blame some of them if they did quit over the way they have been treated.

The executives at Sky News must be pretty pleased as more viewers will turn to them as the bbc press the self destruct button to its own linear news services.

I think you have to wait and see the final product before being that definitive, but I just can't see where a huge movement of viewers is going to come from. Maybe a small change, but I can't foresee anything seismic. After all, similar predictions were made about the 2015 schedule changes, but came to nothing.
The fundamentals aren't changing - it's still news from the BBC - and, at first glance, there will be little noticeable difference for the general viewer. Although there will presumably be more international news, they've hardly been reluctant to show major and breaking UK news during the interim period when it had to be shown on World too, I'd be very surprised if they are less likely to cover such stories now they don't have to show them internationally. For UK viewers, it'll still have major UK and international news - just like they'd expect from the BBC.
I don't think anybody here is under any illusions about the unideal nature of the situation or the difficulties of serving a domestic and international audience at the same time. But there are workable solutions and maybe they'll have found one that works enough. Ultimately, I'd be more worried about international viewers turning off if it's too parochial.

I personally think one of the main things they could have done to smooth over this change was to make the One and Ten an hour long, with Sportsday maybe being the exact same length as the regional news and then the same presenter coming back for another 15 mins. Would have allowed a paper review to continue.
We’ve already seen late stories where Huw or someone has had to say ‘More on this story on the BBC website’ as there is now little chance a small domestic story will receive any substantial coverage until Breakfast the next morning
