HM Queen Elizabeth Dies & Funeral Coverage

Talk TV coverage didn't go well. The newsreader makes the announcement, hands over to an emotional Vanessa who is then interrupted by the Piers coverage.

After Clive did his stint in B, I’m surprised Huw didn’t take over again from E

For entirely sit down desk presentation, studio E is much better than studio B

Imagine listening to the news on talkRADIO which would have sounded even more messy than it did on television.

Huw Edwards has been superb this week and today has been completely unflappable. It's been an enormous news week, and I'm guessing after 3 days of anchoring the 6 & 10 and live rolling coverage of the new PM, he wasn't due on air today.

He does look tired now on BBC 1. He can't realistically stay on air every day throughout the next 10-14 days. I hope he has tomorrow and the weekend off before events next week. There are other perfectly competent senior anchors in the BBC 1 pool who can relieve him for a few days.

I totally agree he has been amazing. One would not forgive him for considering retirement once we have had the Queens funeral and the Kings coronation.

I just can’t believe how stupid the BBC are with continuity.

I know this ain’t the time for moaning but how many years do they need to practice.

Huw and Clive keep referring to BST!

No, it’s not an extended NAT, it’s BBC News. And no Clive, it’s not 9.15pm, you’re watching BBC News.

Yes, I’m probably overreacting but seriously??? This has been a decade in the planning.

They may do generic ‘this is BBC News’ type stuff when it’s the News Channel and World simulcasting but they never compromise the coverage when it’s on BBC One. That is the number one priority and hence you get full time checks.

STV has just used this ident at 11pm

ITV used the simple white 3D logo panning against a black background ident for the 11pm programme.
