HM Queen Elizabeth Dies & Funeral Coverage

I’m wondering if this BBC News special in Cardiff and hosted by Nick Servini is coming from London and are they using the same studio used by Huw, Mishal, Sophie... or have they erected the same design somewhere in Cardiff?

Am I reading this right.

From this article on the NBC news website. It make a suggestion that the queen died an hour after the announcement was made that she was under medical supervision.

Paragraph further down the page.

Quote: .. She booked the flight and the hotel a week ago after the news broke that the queen was under “medical supervision.” Elizabeth died an hour later

Depends how you read it, It could be that it means an hour after the member of the public booked her flights the Queen died, not that she booked her flights instantly when we knew the queen was under medical supervision.

Who were the presenters on BBC One today, I don’t think either were name checked

The women hosting the BBC News Special at 10:00 and 14:45
The man hosting the ceremonial programme at 10:30

Credit where credit is due, the BBC Wales team did as good as job as the other nations the King and Queen C Camilla have visited . Loved the inclusion of Jennifer Jones all afternoon on the BBC News simulcast after the main programme.

I’m still stumped by the studio Nick Servini was in. It was a BBC Studios production so can we assume they built one in wales for the occasion, it was identical to the studio used in NI.

EDIT:

BBC Studios are behind these productions and have produced more or less identical sets for such occasions. Exceptional continuity.

Interesting that Mishal was in the screen based NBH studio tonight rather than in the real Buckingham Palace studio

Maybe after the other night they’ve realised that the latter doesn’t work after dark with the reflections on the curved window looking like the hall of mirrors

I wonder what studio set up ITV will be using on Monday, sofas in the ITV News studio and a stand up position at an appropriate location, or will they have an actual outdoor studio?

Just noticed that TalkTV are now using a sombre ident, very much in keeping with the national mood. Unsure how long this has been used for.
