The titles seem a copeout to me at least Newsline which it seems to be based on has longer titles, the vamp is pretty good but others have remarked it’s a huge space to play with but looks very empty.

Have to say I really like the new music. Reminds me of the beautiful theme from the Wales Today relaunch in 2005. It sounds like a classic Lowe (a good thing!) youtu.be
As for the titles, I’m not a fan. Unlike the short titles on Network News and Wales Today which show off a nice wide shot of the studios, these don’t have the same effect as the shot they cut to wasn’t particularly interesting. Perhaps this could be changed over time.
I can only echo what others have already said about this (and the other new BBC Regional/National sets). It’s quite bland and could definitely make better use of the space available.
All in all I think it’s a nice space … but definitely needs some work.
I would love a nice camera pan of the studio THEN cut to presenter after titles … maybe incorporating the cameras into the set … so I keeping with the nationals look in London.
The desk … either fit the panels for the full height, or just a normal sit down desk would have been nicer.
Another tall screen in the corner of the studio behind the desk would have been good.
And why was the weather presenter not in the studio? Was there an issue? It was a pre-recorded forecast.
A couple of hoops hanging from the ceiling similar to Studio B might help as well. In the wide shots, the grid and ceiling is very visible. That would just break the large black space up a little.

Even something as simple as the white strip which runs along the floor in B would help.
