This, courtesy of Trish Bertram from 1993, is presumably the replacement for that facility

In the first video what you are seeing are parts of the LWT MCR operational area including the network switching position, the lines area, the presentation operational area, telecine,  graphics and vtr.

The second video shows only the LNN presentation operational area.

No, sorry its about 3:46. Physically in the room behind what a assume is the announcer. There's the old orange stripy 'News Headlines' background from the early 80s, but instead of LWT it says 'W       T'

Isn't that Peter Lewis?

Think that is Peter - though by this time - and this was still when announcer went in-vis to read the local news headlines -  they would have been sitting in front of a plain grey background with updated LWT logo (see attachment for a view inside)

Towards the end, don't we also see the control room from where Channel 4 ad breaks were played out? (along with the occasional 'over on ITV' opt-out link)

Nice to see they kept a commercial copy of Fourscore...

Your photo shows Keith Harrison on duty. The previous photo from Stooky Bill is Peter Lewis. The presentation studio had a number of backdrops that could be slid into position, I think they were basically flats on a rail but it is too long ago to remember now. The ‘LWT’ logo in Stooky Bill’s screen grab does look a little odd I have say, I can’t think of any obvious reason why the ‘L’ would be missing (overlapping flats?) - there is a fair bit of reflection from the glass between the studio and the control room which doesn’t help.

Yes, the video does also show the C4 presentation area, it temporarily became the main ITV control room area for a short time whilst the LNN transmission area was built in the original ITV control room area. It took a brave projects engineer to move the GVG300 vision/sound mixer! The video does not show the C4 announcers booth which is a pity. The original ITV presentation studio had a deep  concrete floor to facilitate sound deadening, the LNN LMS machines were eventually placed on that floor which could not be removed. Channelled groves were cut into the concrete floor so that the LMS cables could run under the kit etc, I guess being concrete it helped to support and spread the considerable weight of the two LMS machines. All this was sitting above the scene dock below!

BSB Galaxy ident from 1990 - yes before we proceed, we’ve seen it before. In this case however, I’m not sure the actual source of the copy, but I’ve never seen such a high resolution version of this ident before now, I thought it was worth linking to:

Almost as if I'm watching on D-MAC 😏

Seriously though, BSB were blessed with some fantastic looking idents and it's really sad to see that presentation go to waste after such a short amount of time.

I could be wrong but that looks like someone's found a high quality SD copy from somewhere... and upscaled it. It's just something about the lettering around Galaxy that's making me think that.

Yes, it looks like AI upscaling to me. Was the original ident 50i, or has it been motion interpolated as well as upscaled?
