Looks OK to me, but here's the YouTube copy

It's much more noticeable when watching in full screen. For a site that presents itself as an archive, that is an inexcusably silly thing to do to the video.

Always good to see more BFBS material - in this case, the TV service had rebranded to SSVC and in-vision continuity was being phased out. Note too they were bypassing the frontcaps on ITV shows.

And from a couple of years later, their answer to the Broom Cupboard - with Debbie Flint.

Their competition to win a ferry journey back to the UK is slightly unfortunate in hindsight. The crossings had to be taken by June 1987 and the Herald of Free Enterprise disaster was in March 1987.

Richard Barnes was a very pleasant chap, I wonder if he is around somewhere - happily retired of course. ITV idents had always been edited off the front of ITV shows shown on BFBS.

Mr 'Made in Maidstone' continues to deliver...a full edition of Day By Day from the day Peter Sellers died (seems to be quite a few full editions on YT nowadays, come to think of it)
You'll notice there's a news bulletin for the South East - there were usually separate bulletins for the South and South East on Mondays to Thursdays, both coming from the Northam studios.
The SE bulletin was usually pre-recorded while the South bulletin was live, though it appears to be the reverse here. Scene South East on Fridays also included a pre-recorded bulletin from Northam.
Southern had been doing split bulletins since the early 1960s - not long after the Dover transmitter went on air. Considering how Meridian's news is produced nowadays, you could say they've almost come full circle.

I'll eat my hat if Mr Made in Maidstone isn't Nic Ayling. He's posted lots of broadcast quality TVS content over the years.

I'm sure it might well be - as he's posted much shorter clips of these shows, including Day by Day, beforehand as 'TheMeakers'.
One other note - this edition went out at 7pm (ITV were in the middle of covering the Moscow Olympics - the same event which saw the Beeb's regional news being moved to BBC2 for the very first time)
