American News Presentation

... and it'll be starting on 24/5. The filler is known as NewsNation Now from 1-5am:

Back to CBS, TVNewsTalk dug out some internal promos from WBBM Chicago on their Vimeo, which featured a rudimentary animation of the new package (with WBBM letterboxed):

Suspect this is the way they're moving forward, but given the promo was uploaded 7 months ago and was animated quite choppily, it'll probably be done with a lot more polishing.

NewsNation going 24/5 is nice, they already removed the religious informercials for reruns.  I'd wish they bring back NewsNation Late Edition at 11pmet, it was the perfectly, yet slightly unhinged programme. I still wish they had some elements of their primetime newscast original agenda there somewhere. It is nice they do different topics. The shows that get more opinion-y like On Balance, Cuomo, and Abrams still seem to have some balance and respect for their viewers.  Elizabeth Vargas' show is good, she's always been a good anchor and does a great job on NN. She should have been the 8pm ET show and doing the same format. oh well.

I hope News Nation Now will use the main studio, otherwise it will only be seen for News Nation Live.  Will be interesting to see the Washington D.C set.

When I say main set, I mean this one in Chicago

Versus the news room set , which is used for Early Morning, Morning in America, and Weekend Prime, and the out going RushHour, which was the first show to use it.

Fun fact: they covered up those windows a while ago , kind of a shame.  Also this gives me a chance to mention they've not had the ticker and clock on the screen for a couple days.

Moving on to local TV: KOB, Hubbard's NBC affiliate in Albuquerque, got some new graphics since at least Tuesday, dropping their long-running Eyewitness News brand in the process.

Would've looked better if they use a white symbol directly instead.

Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham next?

It was inevitable that the Dominion settlement would result in changes, but I would have thought senior management departures and lesser names seen as more expendable would have come first.

That's still less then they had to pay last week. The market value will return, that won't

News Nation Now has launched today, the first two hour block is rotation anchors , so current weekend Prime anchor , Natasha Zouves is doing it today.  Also it's using the main studio in Chicago, like NewsNation Live does, so that's nice.  The Channel is 24 hours 5 days a week now, their weekend line up is still reruns of "Last Man Standing" and "Blue Bloods" with Prime in the evenings, reruns of Abrams and Cuomo and the religious infomericals still hang around.  This also means they will still be doing 11 hours of weekday programming from Chicago, 4 hours from New York and 2 from DC.

Goodness they picked literally the ugliest images of the Chicago Skyline. It makes the city look almost unrecognizable.
