American News Presentation

Thanks for the great tip! I've been watching on Samsung TV Plus, but I just tried Now and you're absolutely right - Today is on, despite the EPG saying otherwise.

No idea why the Samsung version has switched back to the main global feed. The opt-out can't be a Sky exclusive if you're also getting it on BTTV.

One thing that's changed since I last watched is that there's a horrible clash of logos in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen, with the NBC News Now logo sitting on top of the animating Today/NBC News one. Other than that, though, it's great to be able to watch in the morning again.

Back to Tegna... After WWL, KING in Seattle is also dropping the white outlined boxes, in favour of specialized brandings on mornings and 5pm, the latter now branded with the leading anchor Joyce Taylor.

For comparison, this was the old package:

And now, something completely different: NJ Spotlight News, NJ PBS' nightly news, has a new look this month.

Created from merging their newsrooms with news site NJ Spotlight, they detached themselves from the latter's green square symbol to a specific, serif one.

And after. The predecessor was a bit more dynamic IMO.

An improvement over the first Spotlight News look, but still a far cry from NJTV News under Mary Alice Williams when they moved to the Agnes Varis studio.

After MSNBC, CNBC is next in line to switch to NBC Tinker and the updated Sibling Rivalry peacock, as it unveils its biggest rebrand since 2014. The biggest change is the ticker: from Monday, instead of two scrolling lines, it will be one scrolling line and another featuring the "bottom line" of three top indices featured in all graphical iterations since 2005 (previously located along the clock bug since 2014).

Long overdue for CNBC getting a logo refresh (how long had their logo been in use?), but it will be worth keeping an eye on the Asia and Europe feeds as well as the main US coverage to see how it looks.
