I also missed this last year: WITF, the local PBS affiliate in Central Pennsylvania, switching to a new symbol that sort of looks like AMD's in November.

Moving on, NHK in Japan is reorganizing its satellite channels. Two high-definition channels, BS1 (1440x1080) and BS Premium (1920x1080), are to be merged into a new 2K resolution channel in December, while BS4K is to undergo a redistribution of satellite waves. Some main points of that in their recent conference include:
[*]The names of the new combined 2K channel and reorganized 4K channel are TBD later in Spring, currently using the provisional names of "New BS2K" and "New BS4K";
[*]Almost all current BS1 and BSP programming are to be transferred to "New BS2K";
[*]Sports programming will be included in "New BS2K", while "New BS4K" will chime in in big events like the Olympics;
[*]The resolution of "New BS2K" will be the same as BS1's;
[*]A documentary series about ancient Mayan civilization will be shot in 4K and broadcast on "New BS4K";
[*]In preparation for the change, BSP and BS4K will have the same lineup from April, but programmes shown on the latter will still be in pure 4K.
With BSP was previously formed from the high-def BS hi and SD BS2 back in 2011, it'll be interesting to see how their channel portfolio be condensed into.
